update time..
The cars been running okay, been enjoying the extra power and surprising quite a few high end cars, still can't believe how well the car handles the extra power though, almost like it needs more lol
The cars had some issues though,
The turbo inlet hose wasn't really attached...
The cars running an adaptronic ecu so diagnostics isn't really that easy, guessing I can log what the ecu is seeing and give that to efi and see what they think (they mapped it)
The car was done by Clio turbo about a year ago
Cars fitted with an auto gauge pressure gauge (s**t I know) but the oil pressure seems to jump at around 4.5k revs
Should this be happening or not?
Also quite a big misfire after changing to 4th under load.. Cars boosted on an adaptronic ecu so what's best to look at first?
Thanks
Another thing to watch is the brake lines behind the turbo and the master cylinder.. With the turbo they all get very very hot and mine boils the fluid very quickly. Good heat shielding is essential but my turbo seems to be rubbing very close to the lines so I'm going to relocate everything...
Saw your post, the car came up very nicely! Think I might have to give it a try, did you use both the Orange and white pads in the post or just recommend using the orange?
My black ph1 is looking very dull with many swirls ect. I would like to have a go at polishing it with the DA polisher I have but don't really know where to start on what polish or pads to use, there's so many options and having never done it properly before I'm abit lost.
Not looking to do a...
Using the parts to boost my brothers Clio now, think you're quite local to me so happy to take you out in it if you're considering one or doing it yourself
High boost clios are a lot of fun! Mines highish boost @ 280bhp and doesnt really feel over powered for the car and that's without a diff! For track though id rather my old standard ish car tbh, wouldn't be constantly worried about it going bang with expensive repair bills!
Yeah I still found them to squeal a lot, the ds2500 didn't squeal at all just found the RC5+ to give a better 'bite' but I don't know if that was down to simply them being new pads on new disks as I replaced the worn out ds2500 for them
Don't get the RC5+ if it's a daily they squeal so much it just gets on your nerves after a while, that being said I found them better than the ds2500 pads I had on the car previously
Y
yeah was quite fortunate that they let me do it, although due to a delay in getting parts it turned out to be theoretical project rather than actually doing which was unfortunate.
People have put the 225 engines in but it's not a straight fit and requires modification on the chassis leg and...
Well I now have boost!
Brought this last Friday its 280bhp and goes like stink! Can't believe how well these cars put the power down, barely wheelspins, doesn't really torque steer, just goes! The map from efi is absolutely perfect, car doesn't have a great deal of mid-range but pulls very...
Fitted my safety devices half cage, as long as you can get someone with decent welding skills to weld in the spreader plates on the floor it isn't that difficult to fit really
Yeah unfortunately been waiting for ages for the rest of the parts to arrive! Yeah they're awesome mate, pedal is much more progressive now!
I know they look very different next to eachother, and with the different mods they sound/ drive very different too!
Hopefully the next update will...
Another update,
Got the car insured again and back on the road, was hoping to have the conversion well underway by now but still waiting on the rest of the bits I need from Andy at clio turbo so just been enjoying actually having the car back for now.
Got the brakes fully bled up with clip now...
Small update:
Cars pretty much ready for its mot, just got to bleed the brakes through and put the car back on and should be good to go!
Been busy spending lots of money though, I've now got the ecu, turbo, 1.6mm head gasket and some nice black coolant hoses. Going to be ordering the rest of...
