ahh cool, yeah will pm him to see what he reckons
I think they had it at 260, then took it up to 300 where it then bent a rod
basically the cams dont work well with boost so need to be swapped for standard ones but as there was a standard engine for sale at the time figured it would be easier...
Cheers for the offer but my brother and mate are getting cages from the group by too so think we're all going down to collect them anyway
Defiantly! things should start moving a little quicker once its back on the road
Cheers, and haha unfortunately not!
Thats good to know, 240-250...
Thought I would do a little update to this:
So the cars basically been sat for the last few months, got the engine and brakes from Mark along with a few other bits (much appreciated!) Ive pretty much got the brakes fitted now, just need to make two new brake lines up at work as one needs a...
yeah that's what I want to do with mine, just the little things like that its much easier to get the bits made to fit straight out of the box, you going low boost with yours?
Although its difficult to see when viewing the car ph1's tend to rust in the rear inner arches, both mine and my brothers have started and i think quite a few on the forum have as well. 140k is pretty high millage but if its been looked after no reason why it wouldn't last, they take the millage...
Thought I'd better get round to putting a thread up seeing as i've owned the car for over 3 years now and this winter Ill be turbo charging it for my HND project at college.
Got the car pretty much standard and slowly over time got it to a half decent spec:
Engine:
197 cams
matched inlets...
yeah im sure there is one in the guides section somewhere, Ive ditched the air bag as the plugs were different but im sure there would be a way of keeping an airbag, just the lock buttons and hazard switches need moving to the top the rest is straight fit and i think the clocks need screwing...
Blimey that was along time ago haha... yeah the cars moved on quite a way now, going to do a proper project thread soon as ill hopefully be doing a low boost turbo conversion over the winter, anyway heres some more upto date pictures..
Got bucket seats and need to position them further back in the car, anybody know how far back the omp runners slide back in relation to where they are bolted down?
Had a go with a mates dslr today at the btcc media day and managed to get a photo i quite liked
I have no idea if its edited at all as he sent me it as a jpeg but ive defiantly got the bug now, just need to save for a camera..
Yeah I've tried that, it's already on the lowest setting at the rear and the front is better on the higher setting as it tilts the seat back, still too high even with the front and back on the lowest bolt though
Yeah I've had a play with the different heights on the sidemounts but like you said it sits too high with the standard rails, I'll have to keep a look out for new subframes
Recently fitted these and absolutely love them, however they are far to high! whats the best way of getting them lower? currently on recaro adapter plates and the standard rails.

okay retract my last comment the multimeter was faulty, the alternator charges at 14.6V this was read from the alternator its self. The car however keeps blowing main beam bulbs and the abs and stop light come on when reving it.. but only when the alternator is connected? when run just of the...
Had a quick search and couldn't find anything definite, basically it started with my radio randomly switching on and off but has now moved to the headlights not going onto full beam, however the blue full beam light on the dash is constantly on with the low beam indicator coming on when I turn...
