    lacquering in vinyls

In addition to what you said Simon, I would also say never put aerosol or high solvent paints near vinyl, such as lacquer out of a spray can. The high solvent content reacts with and shrinks vinyl, and will make it lift off and go wrinkly. Btw, those bullets in the 1st/2nd pics look top notch!

    Interior trim re-spray

On an older thread I started, I posted some pictures of the centre part of the top dash and the surround panel covering the hazard switch and buttons either side that I painted in Black Gold to match the exterior. My car has got the silver dash trims, silver gearknob and steering wheel trims...

Spraying 'Clio' sign, Bullets and Diamonds HELP!! Post pics

As above, electric DA polisher would be good, might be a bit tricky doing little bits of trim though (getting them to stay still whilst you polish etc) Lacquer out of a can isn't very 'hard' so might even be easier using compound by hand but see how you get on.

Spraying 'Clio' sign, Bullets and Diamonds HELP!! Post pics

DA sanding AFTER flatting back isn't a good idea no lol. You need to use compound after flatting the paint back either with a machine polisher or by hand. DA's are good sanding large flat panels like doors and bonnets. When spraying small bits and bobs just flat it by hand with wet and dry.

Spraying 'Clio' sign, Bullets and Diamonds HELP!! Post pics

In terms of getting a good, shiny finish it just means using a fine wet and dry paper to get the paint nice and flat. 1500 is common for wet sanding. This gets the paint nice and flat and takes the top off any defects in the paint, aka 'denibbing', you then have to compoud after to remove the...

    LSP - Machine or Hand?

I would say do everything with machine, bar wax/sealant. It's only sitting on top of the paint, rather than needing to be worked so by hand is fine IMO. Plus it's easier to use less product.

    Understanding gear oil ratings.

Thanks for the reply, I know that oil gets thinner as it heats up obviously, but my understanding of the numbers meant that the 'hot rating' of the oil was saying it was higher viscosity! So how do the first number and second number relate to the other then, if the first is cold, and the 2nd is...

    Understanding gear oil ratings.

The following copy/paste is from another website as I try to get my head around what gear oil ratings mean... Multigrade gear oils Viscosity of gear oils may be stabilized by polymeric additives (viscosity index improvers). Viscosity of such gear oils is specified at both high and low...

    Meguiars G220 V2 DA Polisher

I've got one, used mainly for polishing and refining, as I use rotary's for compound. Really nice piece of kit, I use the 3 inch spot pads if i'm concentrating on individual panels or the standard 7 inch for general polishing and waxing the whole car. As with everything, it depends what you...

    197 diffuser 85% complete lol

Are you going to make a tray to go the full length under the car to meet up with the diffuser? Are you doing this as part of an aero kit or is it just for looks? I wonder if this was done properly (for the sole purpose of aerodynamics) how much difference it would make...

    Meguiars ultimate paste wax

Anyone used this? I literally have or had every Meguiars product, except their waxes so I thought I'd give one a go. Bought a tub online, so will be coming early this week, just wanted to get a bit of feedback/experiences on it. I understand it's more of a sealant than a wax, how does it...
