Left work yesterday, and the car wasn't keen on starting.
Pulled out of the car park and the car seriously bogged in 2nd gear then was fine. A few minutes later down the road and the car was misfiring on 1 cylinder. Loss of power and can hear the occasional pop from the exhaust.
would like to...
So the clio got a lot of love this weekend...:o
Basically started yesterday morning, wet flatted a few areas of the car to get the paint super-smooth, then spent pretty much all of yesterday and today getting it all looking good again with various compounds, polishes, and wax!
Pictures taken...
Ok so a few months later I want to re-do these lol.
I think the BG stands out a bit too much for the interior.
Any suggestions for a good colour, that looks as OEM as possible?
Silver? Anthracite? I need some advice!
Will be selling my 182 next month so would like a guideline price to advertise it for. Will be going on Pistonheads.
- Both Cup packs
- Black Gold
- 55,000 miles
- FSH, belts done at 39,000 with reciept
- Mint all round, wheels also mint (couple of tiny stonechips on bonnet etc if your fussy)
-...
How do you find the air supply without the tank? Is the compressor continuously on or does it only come on when you are actually using the airbrush?
And how loud is it mate?
Anyone else into airbrushing?
Have a half decent airbrush, but have been using it with my DIY compressor in my shed, a 2.5hp 50 litre jobby. Nothing great but more than good enough for what I use (touch-up gun, airbrush, inflating tyres).
Would like to get something even more portable that I...
Surprised autotrader is being recommended, ive used it (as well as pistonheads) to advertise my past 5 or 6 cars for sale that i've owned. Think I sold 1, maybe 2 through autotrader (£45), all the rest were through pistonheads (£10). Seem to get more serious enquiries through PH too.
Must come...
Thanks for the replies...
had a half hour break then came back to it with a nice big mallet and a socket extension bar...first hit - ooooosh! Straight out!
Had to swap out all the bits from old door to new (new door was completely bare) it's all done and finished, just need to work out why...
Anyone ever removed the b*****d door hinge "pins" from a clio?
Have removed 1 circlip from each pin, is there anything else to do apart from just bang them out?
Access is pretty tight to hit them out so wondering if there is something I've missed!
Well i'm in tonbridge every tuesday which isn't far from you, and often round vigo and west kingsdown (but often use that as an excuse for a blast round kent countryside!) of a weekend as well so yeah might see you about mate.
Re: 8th South Central / East: Surrey Rolling Road : £30! : Saturday 9th February 10am
I'm up for joining this and having a rolling road done, can I still join?
haha, girls just dont understand do they!
it has got rear seats, they are just folded down atm. had to pick up a few tyres and still haven't put the seats back up.
i had a quick nosey at yours, noticed you also have the RS192, carbon front splitter is a nice touch.
wish i had cleaned it this...
Picture I also took lol.
Mine is really dirty, especially next to yours!
Never looked at an artic blue closely before either, really nice colour in the flesh.
Same as my above post, its when the metallic in the paint is sprayed on heavily and particles do not disperse properly in the paint making it look darker. Try painting it with lighter coats.
Finish on the last coat with a very light, fast 'dusty' coat about a foot and a half away to make the...
Most likely the 'colour matched' colour isn't any good. Your best off going to a paint shop and getting them to mix a bit up and put it in a can.
Otherwise if you sprayed the colour on too 'wet' (too heavy and thick) this will make the metallic colour look a lot darker. Try painting it with...
Quite surpirsed, I dont like it but as far as replicas go, its a decent attempt.
Some bits ruin it but a little bit of money spent spacing the wheels, lowering it, painting the rear spoiler black would actually make it look pretty genuine.
I've seen truly awful mr2 conversions to ferrari 360...
The induction pipe it clamps onto will hold it in place securely enough, its a tight fit anyway so wont be going anywhere.
You might have to man handle it to get the end of it under the slam panel
I wouldn't risk nitro mors personally, that stuff is ultra aggresive on car paint. Would almost definatley attack the paint underneath.
I've used it before on a repair and was surprised how effective it was after 10 seconds the paint was literally bubbling off the panels!
Lacquer is a bit more resistant than basecoat to thinners, if your lucky you might be able to just get the new layers of paint off by gently wiping with a rag and thinners.
If the new paint wasn't lacquered it will be even easier!
Haha. Im going to search that out.
Is there really that big a difference? I can see that some last longer than others but does shine really vary that much?
True.
The only other example I can think of a manufacturer doing the same thing is Land Rover with the original defender which came out in the 40's/50's
No one else has done it.
OP, in seriousness I recommend a disposable razor as it much less likely to damage the material, and you can go over the same patch multiple times without risking taking too much off or cutting through.
if the alcantara still looks tired after shaving and a good scrub with a suede brush you...
