Ive got 16x7" rims on an RSi (96) with standard suspension and I get a slight scrubbing when on full lock. So, if your car is lowered by as much as 55mm at the front and 75mm at the back then your going to experience major problems! I would opt for a narrower diameter wheel mate, eg, 6-6.5"...
Yes it will fit. I have one in my mk1 Clio RSi. It was a tight squeeze but all the wires went in eventually and there is no fowling when the dual facia opens up :D
Theres always one isnt there!!!
I tried using cotton buds because thats all I used to remove the standard cassette deck from my Clio. They worked a treat! Oh well, I took your advice on using a wire coat hanger and we eventually got the thing out. However, we also needed a screwdriver, and a...
In my opinion, theres nothing wrong with having 6x9s and a sub. A mate of mine used to have 6x9s and a sub, but then removed the 6x9s cuz of all this rubbish that everybody was spouting. Now, he has front components runnig off an amp with just a sub and an amp in the back. Hes running the...
Hi all
My girlfriend has just bought a Pioneer headunit (6400) to replace the crappy standard one in her 1.1i Saxo. However, we cant get the existing head unit out of the dash! The car didnt come with any release tongs so we have been trying to remove the tape player with cotton buds. The unit...
I think my exhaust has had it! It makes a horrible rasping noise when ticking over and when accelerating. Also, when I come to a stand still (say at a set of lights), I can hear the exhaust knocking and banging against the bottom of the car! I would really like a Magnex system to replace it...
Could be leaky valves mate. I had a front tyre that kept losing pressure (very slowly). So, I took it up to my local garage and they just replaced the valve. It literally took 2 minutes. Problem solved!
I recently ordered a Pioneer 6 disc changer from them and it arrived the day after I ordered it! It only cost me £90 (inc. p&p). Thats a pretty good saving seeing as the exact same model from Halfords was £250!!!:D
Whoever is responsible for that horrific attempt at modding the sweet baby Clio needs shooting!!! What a complete waste of time, money and effort! It just goes to show that you can do too much to a car and make a real mess of it!
That is...
The Rockford Fosgate Punch 200S 2x50w rms @ 4 ohms and 2x100w rms @ 2 ohms
or
The Alpine MRVT320 2x50w rms @ 4 ohms and 2x110w @ 2 ohms
The amp is going to power a set of Infinity 50.5cs (rated @ 2x85w rms)
How tricky would it be to fit the tweeters in a 96 Clio RSi? Ive been told that the best place to have them is pointing up at the windscreen so the sound that is produced is bounced back right at you.
Id like to keep the same brand of speaker throughout the car so as to ensure a nicely balanced sound. As ive already mentioned, I already have a set of Infinity 6x9s and I am very pleased with the sound quality I get from them. So, Im looking for a set of components to complement them. I think...
I will only be using the amp to power the components so I wouldnt get the use out of a 4 channel amp. How much would you do the Infinity Kappa 50.5cs for? The cheapest Ive seen them for is £110.00 from bass junkies.
Where can I find Focals range of components on the Internet?
Ive just had a quick browse on www.caraudiodirect.com and have found the following set-up:
Components
Rockford Fosgate FNX2514 (70w rms) 140w peak
Titanium plated cones
Thermal plastic rubber surrounds
1" multilayered voice...
Ive read in Max Power (i know, i know) that components that cost up to £100 should perform fine if they are powered by the internal mosfet amp of the h/u. How true is this?
Also, with regard a separate amp, Ive got two qs:
1.) Even if the components had a relatively low power rating of, say...
