Later in the series of Top Gear they are doing a review on the Hartge Cooper S. The model they are testing is a guy from the mini forum and Clarkson is having his Hartge modded motor for 2 days to do road and track testing. As I am a member on the forum and also have a Hartge mini I have been...
Dont say that mate..............I wont sleep tonight!!!!!
I think we need to sort some PMs out to get a meet sorted as I am banished from posting on the meets and events bit now for being a tight arsed git and not paying a fiver for membership. Will have to get it sorted out.
Alright Rhys!! Yes I think this is a first for me. At my mates for the weekend who happens to be on the net!!!
Will have to meet up for a blast soon. Will be good if we could round a few others up too...................calling Craggy......Paddy.............Matt etc etc.
Isnt the 172/cup very close to the V6 anyway?? Not being cynical or anything if it comes across that way?? Basically I would expect a 172 with 190 brake + to be as quick. Look at Paddys for a start (Serious).......... I wont even begin to talk about Cupsizes.... ;)
You find a flat piece of road set it to zero and as soon as you start to move the countdown begins. (Rhys set the thing up but it didnt appear to be rocket science) When the AP-22 registed 100 mph my speedo was reading 108 which explains my ambitious mid 14 runs previousley.
You trying to say Im a fat b*****d Aaron?? Outside now!!!;)
The Cooper S gets praised for its handling in car mags 95% of the time and it does deserve it. However after a spin in Rhyss Williams I can honestly say that it handled just as well if not better than mine.
Unbeliveable. I would like to have seen the response if someone called boyracer would have nipped in to say hi!!!
All the same hello baberacer and I might bump into you in Harvey Nics one of these days.
That was with the AP-22. Showed about 108 on the clock which explains why I was dipping into th 14s the night before with my unscientific calculations!!
What made you go for the 330d over the 330i Geoff?? Company car? By the way they are pretty impessive figures. Especially the torque. Get it booked into Hartge and they will turn it into even more of a beast.
I raced Rhys when my Cooper S was standard and only had 800 miles on the clock and didnt have any problems keeping up. Had a blast down a long straight to about 115 and again no one was pulling or gaining. Same over twisties with some nice straights thrown in. Also "raced" him in his Williams...
I noticed that the supercharger whine is a lot more noticeable than standard when I test drove the demo.
I personally like the sound but I know a lot of people of here say they hate it. Torque is upto 250 NM (I think) Standard is 210. Anyone know what this equates to in lbs/ft?
Uprated supercharger and pulley and a re-mapped ECU. Not sure if they have any other secrets that they are keeping quiet about as the power figure is higher than all other tuners. (For now anyway)
Anyway if anyone in the Sheffield area would like a spin I would be more than happy to meet up...
I am collecting my new 215 bhp Cooper S up tomorrow from Hartge! Took 2 demos out for a test drive on Wednesday. Without a doubt it is 1800 quid well spent. Went out and was three up (unfortunatley) and it definatley felt a lot more rapid than mine at the moment with just me in. Especially...
I have been asked to go along and test Birdss Hartge Cooper S on that day as mine is booked in for the conversion on Wednesday. Birdss demo is being used at Donnington on the Tuesday so they have kindly invited me along for a test drive.
