My Cooper got recalled twice in the 6 months I had it. One for the above problem of being liable to blow up when filling it with petrol and the other for a dodgy handbrake cable. Not had any letters through about my new one though..................YET!!!
Cooper S works is 6.7 to 62 for the record too Cupsize. Check JCW website.
I dont want to rattle on about these .01s of seconds anymore as I dont want to be seen as an argumentative w**ker.
Hartge Cooper S - 0-62 in 6.6. 0-60 isnt where the car shines as it aint 4wd. Mid range is where it shifts. Check out the torque figure. 240nm off the top of my head.
I would say a cup would beat an S too. A 210 brake Cooper S though and I know what Id put my money on. But that is not really comparing apples with apples as there is a 200+ bhp upgrade out for the Cup too.
It is only using 1st gear as it is taken from a 0-100 run and the Cooper S has stupidly long gearing. About 42 in 1st and 72 in second. A mistake on BMWs behalf in my opinion. Why do you need to have anymore than 62 in second?
Every thread at the minute seems to end up ? vs Cup!!
I have yet still to see one on the road!!!! Seen 3 Focus RSs but not one cup yet. Looking forward to Saturday though as there should be a few at the RR day.
Where do you 240 bhp from mate?? It is 210. What is your 30-70 time?? Hartge quote 4.6 30-70. On the video clip above I time it at around 5 seconds in the wet with wheel spin as he doesnt change to second until after 40.
Sounds like you have a rapid 172.
"Whats the point having all that power if the wheels spin it away"
I dont tend to race from standing very often but when I do yes it could be a problem if I dont get the launch correct. However I dont think spining wheels will be a problem when booting it in 3rd gear at 50 miles per hour...
A cup can hit a Tonne in under 15?? Well Phuck me!!! There must be something renault are not telling us. An 89kg weight saving shaving off over 3 seconds to the tonne?? That is very impressive if it is true.
Did you see the state of the track?? You try getting 215bhp down through the front wheels on a wet strip. The 0-100 time is low 15s according to my stop watch which aint bad. You can here and see that it is stuggling to get the power down until it hits about 50 mph. Once wheel spin is...
I think Paddys going to the RR day on Saturday?? What have I got to loose driving a slow puffs car that cant handle? Might as well have a pop.
The Hartge kit is being fitted the 22nd of this Month.
It is an awful sort of metalic Gun Metal colour and sits on absolutley hideous 17 inch Wheels that have absolutley no grip whatsover and the extra 3 kg of them slows the car down so much. 1st gear is demanded to cope with even the easiest of roundabouts otherwise sideways action is almost...
Okay I am putting my money where my mouth is now seen as I am attending a cliosport RR day this Saturday.
Chesterfield, where this rr day is taking place is not exactly a million miles away from the Peak district where there are some rather tasty roads. There is quite a selection of cars...
On my way back from Alton Towers on Monday and decided to go the cross country route as the way there was hurrendous, M1, junction 28 etc etc. Anyway showing it some action and had three mates in so I was fully loaded being a 2 plus 2 car. Came up behind a Laguna eventually who was chilling...
Matblack you are correct......the vents in the Cooper S parcelshelf are to make the exhaust note more audiable inside the car. What a load of b****cks!!! Flipping the back seats down is a much better option!
It could have well been me Dave but I dont recall chasing a TT on purpose. I am not really into sitting on peoples bumpers. My mate has a TT 225bhp and we often go for a blast out through Dronfield and toward Fox House etc. I am a big fan of the TT and that is the car that I would have gone...
