Clio Cup Top Speed

  Rangerover Supercharged

Well Chaps and Chappeses

Lets all go take a blast down the local highway and see what top speed we can get out of our pride and joy, Sunday morning at 8am on the M62 towards Leeds I managed to get 148 mph, not bad considering ive only done 3000 miles in her.

Thats the indicated speedo reading though, Renault quote 138 mph, thats probally what you were doing due to speedo error.

When I put my Cooper S against Rhyss AP-22 a ton didnt show until 108 on the clock.
Do you have to calibrate those AP-22s to the car or did you do this and it was that far out?

You find a flat piece of road set it to zero and as soon as you start to move the countdown begins. (Rhys set the thing up but it didnt appear to be rocket science) When the AP-22 registed 100 mph my speedo was reading 108 which explains my ambitious mid 14 runs previousley.

LOL then minus 10% off for Speedo inaccuracies
Its not often that high unless youve non standard wheels/tyres on there...

When I got my car I tested it with GPS and at 100mph indicated its doing 97mph actual, so only 3% out.

agreed.. the best way to test the innacuracies of the speedo is by GPS, they are much more accurate.
