So I got some Spax 40mm lowering springs as a birthday present, should be fitting them soon :) but does anyone know how good they are and how much they cost? Just curious like ;)
On 40mm Ive heard around 6 months to a year if youre lucky. Nothing wrong with just changing the springs first, just bear in mind you will have to change the shocks pretty soon anyway and if youre not doing it yourself itll cost a fair bit!
Theblueturk, where are you, I may be interested in that bumper if its still going :) (the standard 16v one)
But just wondering, how much wider is it than a standard RT bumper? Dunno if itd look stupid til I got 16v wings as well!
Umm about 260-280 on just under £30. Thats before the light comes on.
Ive been told its a bad idea to run it on empty cause youll end up sucking any rust in the tank through the engine.
And case in point -

17s on a 1.4? Hmmm doesnt sound a good idea really...
I mean, just for a bit of perspective I know a guy who has a Skyline GTR, and he says 19s slow that down.
From about 4 threads down :p

If theyre the same brakes as mine, the ones held in by a little slider at one end of the caliper, dont clean the calipers with a wire brush as I was advised to. f**king brake pads fell out in the middle of town!
So itd cost just under £300 to get 16v arches welded in? Would I be able to get those arches easy enough? I got rusty arches as well but Im hoping to keep my baby til I can really afford somat powerful, 5 years at least!
Dunno if I really wanna end up with a 16v replica tho
The most logical thing I heard on this subject, you cant get out more than you put in, no matter what you do.
Hence a cap will keep the power levels smoother but ultimatly you need a more powerful alternator and battery.
My Alpine CDM-9807RB says it has 60x4 watts, now I looked through the manual and cant find any reference to whether this is RMS or peak power? Anyone know which one it would be? I reckoned itd be peak so thatd be somewhere around 20w RMS?
afaik the Mk1 Phase 1 and 2 are exactly the same mechanically, just the options, dash and slightly different bumpers/door mouldings. Whereas the phase 3 has some mechanical improvements :)
The dashboard speaker ports are about that far from the door ones anyway, if it sounds dodgy I can always move it but Id prefer a nice stealthy install :)
