jon, paddy, nice to hear from you guys. ill keep an eye on the meets board for the next NW encounter, would be nice to see everyone again!
As for the S3, standard or near enough to standard is the way im hoping to keep it. Said that before though! Just concentrating on geting the car looking...
lets keep them stealth though boys. the only other fwd motor i can think of are 2l novas, but everyone knows about them , 2l clios are the real street sleepers, and they can corner!
cheers mate. Craig, the reason the 2 litre clios are so underestimated is what makes them attractive. BS performance figures dont do them any favour either, an S3 can run mid 14s due to launching off the line with 4 wheel drive traction, but i know that a 14 second clio would rape the S3 once...
Not got any pics of the white one, got a pic of the yellow onehttp://erc.qmuc.ac.uk/cliosport/gallery/full/1085072806__IMG_0095.jpgBut you all know about that one! For those who dont, 14.1 1/4, enough said i think! Here are a few pics of my new motor! Def one for the ladies but from a divers...
Few of you on the site know me, a few dont, i have owned and built 2 of the quickest clios on the site, and ive owned 3 valvers in total and an RT. I bought the car i have always wanted last week, an Audi S3. Ive owned and driven many cars, been to many race meets and 1/4 mile events, and i just...
Good points Ben, other points to note include that you hear about the newer clios needing to use there warranty alot, second hand parts are not as readily available, and alot of the work needs to be done by renault which means big bills! id stick with the Willy, cups are gonna carry on...
yep, the appeal of the clio is ovbvious, massive massive fun, but the golf just has a little more refinment, and makes alot more sense, not gonna sell up yet i dont think, prob wait til end of summer, not sure!
lol, the low down torque, the effortlessness (is that a word?) of driving it, the clio you cant chill in, you drive it on the limit at all times, tyres squealing and pulse racing, the golf you just relax in heated leathers and let the low down torque work for you! That sounds quite poetic lol
just got back from a blast in my mates golf TDi, 130bhp, heated leather seats, diamond black, LUSH, the clio obviously gave him a pasting, then we swapped cars and went for a blast, again the clio dominating BUT ive fallen for the golf, the leathers, the comfort, the torque! Seriously thinking...

will amke another post with the details, but for a taster, how does 180bhp grab you?:devilish:
these aint definates amte, these are people who showed interest last time! A few points though, the complete kit for the clio 16v usualy aint complete, it needs piece of silicone piping, is this offered with your product? Also, we already had an offer of 175 if we bought more then 2, so your...
all mk1 clios ahve a rear torsion bar, they just have dampers at the back, not springs. There should be a guide on how to adjust the torsion bar on the forum somewhere
polish. Autogly, super resin, quick rub, and off they come. On another note, just realised one of the drawbacks of a yellow car, after 5 mins of polishing it, it was covered in little fly things! the little gits swarmed towards it!
donor car, mounts off a 1.1 night&day model, battery relocated, then just freestyle i would say, ill ad to the entertainmnet, no doubt there are millions of posts on here to tell you how to do it, BUT at the prce they are being offered at these days youd be mad to do it yourself IMO
BE QUICK! if anyone else wants to come in it MAY bring the price down even further, but mione is being fitted on monday so there will def be no more after this day at such a low price!
i would say a lot of this has to do with what oil you use, ever since i have used fully syn, my oil seems to heat up quicker, and stay around 100ish on motorway, maybe im juts imagining it though?
Ever since i had my first 2l conversion (now on my 2nd!) i couldnt get over the difference to the 1800! the williams engine is something else all together, SO you not considerd dropping a 2l in the 16v!? I know it may still not give you the X factor that a williams does but how much of this is...
for 1502, id try and source a williams, 1502 should get you a nice williams engine, cambelt/oil/filter major service, fitted and some money left over for cams/pulleys/headwork!
OR source a nice 16v engine, can be had for 200 quid on this site!
