Id not make any spur of the moment decisions. Is your car paid for by credit? If so, work out if you can afford the repayments while you have no job or stay put for the minute if its all paid for.

It all depends on what you want. For BenR, engine intellectual and handling guru par extrodinaire, a Ph1 V6 is not on the list.
For the average "sporting" driver, interested in the sheer craziness of a RWD 3.0 V6 small car and lulled by the ownership prospect, it will probably appeal.

The thing is that Renault bearings need to be fitted with the correct Renault tool. I actually had the fronts done at about 84k, but they werent done properly and were on their way out by the time I had them done properly at about 95k(?). Unless theres a problem with the bearings themselves...

All the Renault gearboxes Ive used have been very hard to use when cold, but very keen when warmed up and always (touch wood) reliable.

If your heart is set on a modified Clio 16V, then Id sell the one you have and buy a cheaper one with tatty bodywork. Simple engine mods and lowering can be rectified later, but altering the bodywork is pretty permanent.

£80 average to replace a front wheel bearing - the noise will get better/worse as you steer towards/away from the offending bearing.
BTW - make sure you get the bearing pressed in with the right Renault tool. Ive had replacements fail within 10,000 miles when not done like this.
My 1.2 did it, my Valver did it and now my Williams does it. Sometimes its worse than others, but its nothing to worry about if my experience (and tens of thousands of miles) is anything to go by.
Id be careful with moding an Exclusive externally - especially the wheels. People like me would want an Exclusive because its a special car and I think you might find trouble selling one that has mods to its exterior or interior. But engine mods all the way!
There were 400 RHD Williams 1s. The reason their numbers go over 400 is because there were a few LHD press cars numbered in the region of about 10-150.
