    FAO 16v owners

I had a Mk1 1.2 before my old Valver - it was a much bigger step up than the Valver was to the Williams. Youll probably know that a 16V can be a money-pit if you dont buy wisely, but there are very decent examples out there. My Valver cost a lot to run, but my Williams (which is a very...

    I hate my clio

Would they have fitted the de-cat? A lot of places I went to refused to fit the one I had on my old Valver.

Of course mate! What colour is the 182 going to be? Ill keep an eye out as I work at the new Neath-Port Talbot hospital in Baglan from time to time. Keep your eyes peeled for my mint Willy!

    New car question

Ive seen both a 182 and GTi 180 in the flesh at dealers recently while looking at lesser models. I know which Id prefer on looks, let alone the reviews. One car is getting the best reviews a hot hatch has had since the Williams and is winning every group test; the other is reviewed in...

    new tires

Im pretty sure that a Dynamique would come with 185/55/15 size tyres.

    custom stainless exhausts

Id consider a new system if the tailpipe looked the same as the standard item and was pretty well silenced. (Im from Cardiff).

If you had a Black Valver .....

This is my old one as it was last year (sold to bjfoster and now belonging to Riplash). It had leather, a lightly fettled engine, colour-coded plastics and was slightly lowered on reconditioned Phase2 wheels. I loved that car. Really miss it - especially the leather and the noise. Ive now...

    WALES Cliomeet stories....

Private is OK as long as you remember that its the same consultants/medics working on you as in the NHS. BUPA can be a bit hit and miss with some procedures because theres no A&E on site. Some hospitals like Princess of Wales in Bridgend have a private clinic on site, which is a far better...

    WALES Cliomeet stories....

Was that at Heath Hospital per chance? Cardiff & Vale Trust have big problems that arent faced by most of the rest of the Welsh NHS. Seriously though, four hours is the average wait.

    help needed

The exhaust on the Valver rattled on idle and through til about 3000rpm. It just needed a new gasket between the downpipe and the manifold.

No - me! Im an NHS bod.

    exhaust knocking on ignition

If its facing up the hill, then the chances are that the system is resting against the chassis because its being forced backwards by the gravity of the slope. Id expect that it was the manifold downpipe that was rubbing, although it could be other points.

    help needed

Could be one or more of the mounts or joints. My Mongoose system on the old Valver sounded terrible until I had it rehung and resealed - about £20. Give it a try!

Guess you never had it before then Pete? If youre having any trouble with waiting lists and the like you know who to call :D

    Williams ECU

It took me a few months to get used to revving to "only" 6500rpm, but you soon realise that theres little to be gained by holding on for every last rev. The Willy lump is very linear in power delivery and while of couse it pulls even better at high revs, it pulls outstandingly from the lowest...

    WALES Cliomeet stories....

Nope! I had a 1.2 and it was a quality little car - small victories, but victories all the same. Ill never forget how far 60bhp can take you! :D I had an E46 M3 trying it on the other day. Was quite tempted as it was around tight twisty bits, but it was a 30 limit and would have been...

    Buying debate: calling Dynamique owners

Yup, but heading for the Clio methinks. Shes not in a hurry to buy - just waiting for the right deal.

No probs. No plans to sell, but then I did say that Id never sell my old Valver! Im probably moving to the city centre of Bristol later in the summer and I know Ill probably have nowhere to keep it then :(. Fingers crossed as the Willy is my lifetime car - always wanted one, always will.

Woo hoo! Check the Williams praise!! ^^^^^ Cheers James - lovely mint original(ish) car you have there. Id love to have a run-in with a CTR, but the only "races" I seem to get are with hairdressers who cant drive their TTs and angry TD saloon drivers. I met up with a 180bhp Mi16...

The cars still not bought or even decided on yet Ben! Id consider a Fiesta, but its my mums choice, not mine.

Good day to all - Let’s get to the point

Erm... care to ask Hippychick about that? ;)

    someone tell me....

No. Its an option on Dynamique models and standard on some others.

    What a DICK i am

Well, accidents happen and at least you did the right thing and have a clean conscience that you accepted it as you fault straight up. Im always surprised that there arent loads more accidents (including ones that could be my fault - touch wood never been in one).

    WALES Cliomeet stories....

The Pulsar was a properly rapid machine. I managed to catch him off guard when we went off some traffic lights and although he inevitably caught up, it wasnt until I was well into 3rd. He got his own back by totally hammering me on full boost on a dual carriageway though - and I mean properly...

    Buying debate: calling Dynamique owners

Yeah, I know it seemed illogical at the time, but an 18 year old driving a Williams for the first time with its owner in the passenger seat is probably more likely to drive it with care! Like I said, when I was 18 Id have loved to have a go in a Williams so I thought Id dish the car about a bit!

    172 cup for 182 again

Cars are one of the areas in life where you can save the greatest amounts of money for only moderate effort. £5k may seem like a decent price to change, but is the 182 genuinely £5k better? Perhaps you think its £3k better, which might be the price to change if you can get £9.5k privately...

    Would 15s looks too small

The 16s I put on my old Mk1 1.2 ruined both the handling and speed. I only realise that in hindsight though.

    Buying debate: calling Dynamique owners

Right - just got back from the Cardiff Cliosport meet and have a result! Thanks to S2 PTH, I managed to trade a drive in his 1.4 Dynamique in return for a drive of my Williams ;). Frist impressions were good - I managed to burn off a Jag X-type diesel going down a sliproad!! Ok, so it wasnt...
