My flatmate has a black CTR, but he also kept his old Valver. I guess that for Valver owners the whole VTEC late cam thing is easy to live with, so it seemed like a natural progression for him.
It may also have had something to do with the 16vs low trade-in value, but my flatmate swears...
Ive got a blown bulb in my dash (for dipped beam) and just want to get the clocks out of the dash.
I have no troble until it comes to trying to pull the cables out of the back of the speedo/rev counter unit. Theres no room to slide my hand behind the unit and it wont just pull off! Help...
Id print this off if I were you! This is the sum of almost my entire 16v/Williams knowledge that Ive put together for buyers like you!
Read the 1994 Cars & Car Conversions article on the Williams on the main Cliosport site...
Would it do a severe stone chip??
Ive got one just on my bonnet bulge: its about the size of a woodlouse and has nearly gone down to the metal. Would this kit work on it??
Cheers
Tesco and Direct Line are the same company - Royal Bank of Scotland. Theres never a great deal of variation between their quotes. Try Halifax or their "e-sure" brand for people with 4years plus NCB.
No! No! No! The Willy was developed by RenaultSport, as an evolution of the 16v, similar to today with the 172/Cup duo. Williams never even touched the car!
See http://www.cliosport.net/articles/williams-2.asphttp://www.cliosport.net/articles/williams-2.asp for the full details. The...
Yeah, check that the cambelt has been done. I wouldnt worry too much if the other bits have lasted - I always hear about gboxes going at 60k, whereas mine is fine on 99k (flatmates was replaced at 130k after a flood wrecked it!).
The 16v is a very stiff and harsh riding car - it rolls a...
110lb/ft @ 2500rpm; 129lb/ft @ 4250rpm. Its all youll ever need in a sub-1000kg car and is there at the right revs! Its the very reason they made the Willy - the similar F7P unit in the 16v makes similar torque, but at higher revs.
I dont know what gear it was in (how could I know that!!??) I was talking about what gears I was in! :p What we know is that it was making a couple of car lengths on me when I hit 3rd; that it was trying; that it said 20v Turbo in red badges on the side; and that it was making...
Its just the de-cat I guess. Didnt do it before I put that on. The car has headwork and cams, but nothing radical.
I dont know what to say about the Coupe really, it just happened. Ill never know if it was shagged or not, but black smoke is fairly normal on the upchange. I always see...
The early Megane 2.0 16v is the same F7R engine as the Willy, but with the same head as the F7P (Clio 16v) - has 30mm inlet valves rather than 32mm valves and is really a very minor difference. This make 150bhp.
The later Megane 2.0 IDE uses a different unit and makes 140bhp. Not as quick.
Clio 16v stats:
Power-to-weight: 140bhp per ton.
0-60: 7.7 (official), 7.4 (Autocar, 1991)
30-70: 7.1
50-70 (in 5th): 8.9
Top speed: 130mph.
Doesnt sound like its going to lose to a 115bhp Calibra to me!
