I had a similar gentlemans race with a TT before Christmas. We were even in 1st, then I pulled two cars in 2nd, maintained the lead in 3rd and then he started closing again in 4th. It had the twin tailpipes and correct 225bhp wheels, but Id be pretty happy if it was a 180bhp. Mines a moded...
I was on a road going out of Gloucester yesterday, when a black B-reg Japanese coupe glued itself to my arse with a dump valve hissing away. At the first safe opportunity, I floored it and very slowly edged ahead of him.
When we got to a dual carriageway, he stuck to my rear again and then...
Yeah, Im a bit sad really as I regularly do 55mph on the mway, mainly when its busy. Especially at this time of year I hate getting stone chips and also find that if I go to 70 its just the point where the power band starts to come on, so I keep wanting to go faster. You never get in the way...
Cheers guys. I dont know what Ohmage its running at! But if it helps, the sub is powered from a one-channel amp that gets its signal from the head unit (but not power). The amp therefore directs all signal to the sub and there are no other speakers to reduce the Ohmage of the circuit. The...
My trusty 10" sub seems to have given up the ghost (the amp is getting power, but the sub isnt working).
So whats a good 10" sub to go inside a sealed box?? Reasonable prices please!
I dont know much about ICE: I used to work with some people who knew their stuff and they used to get me...
Theres nowt wrong with using the same brake callipers - apart from having more "pots", there havent been major advances in calliper design AFAIK! I think that the rear callipers are the same too - they are on the 16v and Willy (which have the same callipers as the GTT all round).
I guess...
I got a measly 104 lb/ft of torque at the wheels, which was lower than some of the other Valvers with less mods than mine. I still made the most power at the wheels of the 16vs, but I reckon that Im down on what it should be, especially given that my Valver has head and cam work (none of the...
Its Ok mate! You took enough of it anyway, so thanks for that. I just wanted one or two to post on here in future with the "new" Phase 2 wheels. Cheers.
Cheers for organising a great meet guys.
I think its clear that 2.0 F7R Williams power is a massive leap over the 16v - far more than the 13bhp at the flywheel quoted by Renault. On these rollers and with the cars tested, the difference between a standard 2.0 and a 1.8 is over 20bhp at the...
Cheers guys. I still dont know whats up with it - but the good news is that I can over-ride the immobiliser with the second dash fob..so Im still on for Midlands RR day! Ill sort the alarm out in a few days time, the important thing is that Im back on the road - woo hoo!!!
Close one Pete - bet it was a road that you know very well!!:D
Have been working since 6.45am on my damn alarm and it looks as if I might (might)(might) be able to get it started, but still with the shagged alarm. Will keep you posted!
After finally getting the wheels on my car and being totally ready for the Midlands RR day, my alarm has decided to pack up!!!!!
Its a META M99/36T Cat 1 model.
Basically, the system works off the remote fob; but the immobiliser can also be over-riden by another fob that slots directly...
Fred - it was MOT stuff and general bits and bobs. I thought my car was pukka, but it needed new track rod ends, ball joits and (strangley) a headlamp re-align.
I was up in Edinburgh over the summer months and couldnt find any other garage that was convenient. Needless to say, I wont be...
Sometimes if I see a car at the lights that definitely wants a race, I let him blast off into the distance and then reel him back in. Maybe he did that and thought he was going to kill you, but had a hard time clawing back the lead??
Yeah, 16vs are mega loud on full throttle. Most people with a 16v I know that have been pulled over have been pulled over after a traffic cop heard them booting it from about ten miles away!:o
With all respect to the RSi as per previous post, your RSi will not have a real VTS off the lights. Even a 16v and Williams have trouble! (See recent Craggy videos). Maybe it was a badged up VTR? - very common.
When I was in Edinburgh in the summer I took the car to Renault Edinburgh and left it with them for an MOT for the day. At the end of the day and about £400 lighter, I went home in it and noticed that the seat was in a markedly different position (higher, further forward) and theyd put 7 miles...
