TDC - Top Dead Centre sensor. Down to the passenger side of the engine bay, above the gearbox if my memory serves me correctly.
Basically tells the ECU what air/fuel is required and thus can result in lumpy running if it's faulty/dirty.
Loads of threads on here about it with pictures etc.
So you switch it on and get the green light but when pressing the steering buttons nothing happens? Is that correct?
Is that the same with all the steering buttons or just the + and - ones?
Welcome :)
First thing, check the main earth (or -ve) connection to the engine from the battery. Speedos will often stop intermittantly due to a loose connection behind the clocks, check this also.
Have you replaced the upper engine mount, I'm lead to believe this is a common failure...
Water and engines don't mix!
Change the plugs for the NGK ones ASAP as these engines don't like the wrong brand in them for long.
What light is lit on the dash?
Sounds more sinister than the lambda sensor as that wouldn't cause the car to cut out.
Have a look around your ECU in the engine bay and check for any damaged cables.
There's nothing really to torque up, lol! :S
The discs are on locators that's all as they are held in place by the wheel bolts ultimately and the pads are changed by slackening the carrier off.
Programming is dealer only as far as I know so probably one hour's labour minimum.
Yep the decoder ring only receives the signal so a spare should be fine. The immobiliser is within the ECU from memory so is 'locked' to the particular engine.
The remote unlocking and immobiliser function...
