The Cup/172/V6 are RenaultSport cars - not Renault "Sport" AFAIK!
Its all a bit confusing, but it RenaultSport is actually a different company, wholly owned by Regie France SA (Renault) - and in turn the French Government.
The intake for the standard air box is indeed within the nearside front wheel arch.
The exhaust manifold cooling air intake is on top of the bonnet, on the offside. Maybe thats what youre thinking of when you say it might draw water in? It cools as much by letting hot air escape as by...

Have you got a Haynes manual? There are wiring diagrams in the back. I dont think that the two lights you mention share any common connections.
Ive had two Clio 1s now and the rear light clusters are prone to blowing their connectors just before the lamp unit - the connectors melt and then...

This "new" law has been in operation in Avon & Somerset for a year and a half. Forty cars have been crushed so far. It was near impossible for me to organise meets in the West when I was rep for there.

Id say it was about as fast as an E36 323i I raced a while ago. Couldnt tell you what the Audi Coupe was like off the mark as we were on the motorway, but it pulled well from about 50-80mph. The roof rack I had on reduces my top speed to !10mph - so it isnt exactly good for mid-range...
Raced one the other day on a C-plate and totally destroyed it above 80mph (had a load of heavy stuff in the car and a roof rack on too). Was wondering what theyre like - I know it wasnt a turbo short-wheelbase version, but its got to be a 5-cylinder 2.2 jobbie?

Yeah, the pre-98 Clio had two torsion bars at the rear, the 16v/Williams had four. Really awkward to work on, but if youve got the know-how then you can adjust the rear ride height as you please.
Although both based on springs, the phase 1 and phase 2 Clio 2 (post 98) do differ at the rear...
Rolling starts are a different matter as we all know! Id be really surprised to see a Clio even keep up with one of these babies, so get out there with your Willy and your camera and find one to race!:D
A later Delta Integrale Evo should dust any Clio.
0-60 is 5.7 secs. Dominated the world rally championships for most of the late 1980s/early 1990s.
Respect!

Im with you there. :D Although I did beat a twin tail (225bhp) Audi TT on a standing start the other day - its not impossible for FWD to do the business given a good start. But then mine is tweaked ;)
The Mk3 VR6 (the only Golf called the VR6) is in my opinion the car that sits on the fence of hot hatch land and high-speed crusing world. Its fast in a straight line - plus or minus a bit on a 172 - but come the corners there are some problems ahoy. Thats mainly due to the sheer weight which...
Whats the Valver like?
Minter? Big wheels? Shagged? Ever RRd? A quick one? A slow one? Just like the VTS, the 16v varies.
Id have thought that a 16v would have beaten it - just.
