You need to check all your indicators individually. Sounds like a cable is trapped/shorted out! Check side repeaters etc etc. had any work done recently? With a new fuse in, get in the car and switch ignition on. Test left, then right indicators using the stalk. That way you should be able...

lol, as you've probably read it's ty-wrapped to the gear stick shaft. 10 mins of a job max :)

The starter (or commonly referred to as charger) is the bit that plugs into the back of the xenon lamp before you insert it into the headlight. As it fails to 'strike' the lamp everytime then this may be the issue.
