lol, just gone through the whole 'self help' on the HP site and i have an MRGN value of 1 indicating that the black cartridge is fudged! lol! Time for a new one me thinks! ;)

Yeah unplugged the printer for like 5 mins, haven't reset the PC though. Googling now ;)

In the middle of printing a letter it's now saying the black cartridge is the incorrect type even though it's been the same one for months! :dapprove: Tried resetting the printer, removing and reinstalling the cartridges but nothing... :( Anymore ideas guys? :)
