    sounds like you have a constant 12v on the remote terminal of the amp that is why it's staying on all the time there should be a remote cable on the head unit (iirc blue with a white stripe)

    red is power blue should be remote from head unit and the others are phono leads from headunit to carry audio signal to amp you are missing a ground. as for the sub off ebay i'm not even sure if it's worth £50

    not strictly true as you can get 14v in a car and those fuses probably wouldn't operate til 70A 10 awg is ok for running a seperate supply to a head unit and thats about it

    not with li-ion batteries. it's much better to charge them when half full. they usually have a life of a 1000 charge cycles. so 1 0% to 100% charge is the same as 2 50% to 100% charges

    at least 4 awg wiring for a 1000wRMS amp but that amp isn't a 1000wRMS. i'd guess it's around 400wRMS (looking at the 2 20A fuses)

    if the laptop trickle charges the battery all the time then that will kill the battery but that's a design flaw if it does.
