As above. Tried draining a 172 f4r that I'm overhauling and it filled an 8 litre drain pan completely.
Pretty green mistake I know, but I never checked the proper amount of oil it's supposed to hold. Anyone know the exact number and any consequences over the over fill?
Gets on my tits this. A salesman who could be killing it on commission with 7-8k cars that almost sell themselves being complacent because he's got to answer the same question more than once. Probably gets a tidy wage as well.
2million unemployed, millions more on minimum wage and we have this...
Search for 197 or 200 sport body kits. Generally anything else, unless it's a subtle bumper lip and side skirt, will look crappy/mediocre and/or need a lot of tedious fitment modification/ refabrication.
In a nutshell go for the genuine Renault sport kits. They will cost a lot less and look better
The connectors are pretty flimsy. I've always broken them when switching seats (big hands/small plastic s**t)
It's more of a personal preference than a must do. I'd rather trust my own soldering over some plastic clip. Just advice.
Best to disconnect. Never seen it happen, but the airbags can deploy after wires are cut. But there's also a switch to turn off the airbags altogether on mk2 clios.
The rub down/respray is the best option. Don't think they made smooth strips for the ph1. I'd spray the 2.0 16v badge as brush jobs look gash 90% of the time.
If you don't mind taking of the door cards inside, you can swap the strips straight out for phase 2 strips.
If you're looking for a purely cosmetic upgrade then go to an alloy wheel dealer. Better to get something that won't fuse to the hub than somthing that just looks good.
I got some black bolts from performancealloys.com
Looking for advice as I've never removed a tank from a clio. On other cars I've siphoned fuel, clamped & cut the fuel line and dropped the tank. So far I can see three bolts holding the tank in place but the fuel line seems quite brittle. Any advice would be appreciated
If the nut doesn't have a spinning collar you can get a gatorgrip universal socket.
Like above. Or if it has a spinning collar, the socket won't fit, you'll have to get somone to weld a spare bolt to the centre of the locking bolt and remove as normal.
I always advise people to not use...
Not really familiar with deisels (devils work) but if you can find the crankshaft sensor, give it a clean and try again. Should be above the gearbox and under the air filter.
Body shops will take you for a ride on this. It's very simple to do yourself and with such a small area to spray you can do a decent job with rattle cans.
Go with the primer/sand down/primer again method. Works well. And also the sport bullets aren't painted(think they're conditioned to look...
I would advise to make a claim and buy the car back but the insurance company will probably put the price at £1400 or repair it and charge £2000. The damage can be fixed easily. With a new (bare) rear beam you can make the car road worthy by transferring the brake components. Getting a garage to...
For a 100% no bulls1t answer, we'd need to see where it's rubbing/scraping and how badly and also know exactly what parts and camber degree you're running.
Imo, clios aren't meant to be lowered to much. 16-17" wheels on eibach prolines look better than 15" with a 15mm gap from the ground. Also...
Mobile mechanic sounds a bit useless?
Probably a earth wire compromised. The clicking is probably a short out.
Won't be the crankshaft sensor. The electrics aren't cut out by this component
Before you say it, yes this topic has been raised, answered and flogged to death by non sport drivers going for those 1*2 reps. And, no, I don't want to just buy a better car and, yes, I know the rear brakes do very little.
But my situation is slightly different. The drums on the 1.6 I just...
As long as you are talking my about the phase 2 varients, yes, basic structure is the same. But headlight washers may not be present on models that didn't have xenon lights.
Is it left hand drive? I was talking to another member from France that there's a few differences between the left hand drive clios and the right hand drive. He didn't have the footrest either
