Ok so I've checked an old thread and it looks as though the bolts are m8x25. I'll be some of these from a local fastener place tomorrow. Now I've noticed some say they will screw in without the captive nut. If this doesn't work I'll get a rivnut in.
Hopefully this thread will help some one...
Been fiddling on with this to no avail. I managed to get my fingers underneath and the captive nut is no longer captive.
I'm going to have to cut the bolt head off and then push the captive nut out. What options have I got once I've done this?
Anyone know the size of the bolts that hold the mount in place?
I've either stripped the thread on the bolt or the body. Hope it's the bolt.
If I've stripped it off the body anyone had this happen before? How did you fix?
Finally finished my boot install. Pretty happy with it although I possibly should have hidden the amp to make it a bit more subtle.
And the postman dropped off these very boring mintex discs. Nothing amazing but essential and lack of funds this month means these were value for month...
Or if your feeling creative make you own. Here's my attempts cost me £30 for bits and £15 for a second hand amp. Just need to tidy the wiring up and work out where I'm going to put the amp
You will regret not bothering with a sub. I have just installed mine tonight and the sound is unreal. No more shaky door speakers.
The sub suggested above is an active one so no worries about where to hide the amp
Ha yes your right I had a cheap halfrauds set up back in the day! . I'm in my 30's but I like my dance music and the stock set up just wasn't cutting it. My son has just done a boot build in his punto with 2 12inch subs and it looks well max power. Not my taste at all but havng heard it made...
Over the bank holiday I ended up making a small subwoofer box to go in the boot.
So the hunt was on for some second hand audio gear to fit. Little did I know trying to find a second hand 8" sub would be near on impossible. So I bought one of these off amazon.
It was cheap and had good...
Well pads fitted & carrier pins freed off. The piston itself wasn't seized so that was a bonus however getting the old pads out and the new ones in was more tricky than expected. They are a tight fit!
Yep big oops my initial worry was that the bearing might be knackered but I can't feel any play.
So tomorrow during my lunch break it will be purchase pads & a nice big g clamp to get the piston wound back.
Well I knew the front brakes needed doing but I didn't expect this.
Trip to local car parts store tomorrow for a se of pads to tide me over before a brake refresh. It turns out the bottom slider bolt was seized hence the trashed pads.
My discs have been getting v hot as of recently. I took the wheel off and was greeted with this.
Now this lower pin is the problem
How can I get this out and does it need a new carrier for the pin to go in?
Having seen that the gold don't look bad on the black. The car I had seen was blue and it didn't pull it off.
I think I'm going to need about five sets of wheels! Like the blue, gold, cherry and the purply bronze colour
Yep that will be next on the list. I'll be getting some heat resistant paint probably silver.
I don't this I could be chewed with polishing. Although it could be a good excuse to buy a dremel.
Finally getting my alloys powder coated. I had my heart set on gold but having seen the standard wheels in gold on another car and not liking them could someone do me favour and do these in as many colours as possible please.
Bloody bank holidays make work for idle hands.
Now the inlet is going to have to come off and be painted!
And I also made this
Now on the search for an 8" sub to fit. I should have made it big enough for a 10" as they seem plentiful second hand
