If your polishing it you can probably get away with leaving it on. It only takes five mins to remove so it's no biggy. It was cleaning the grime off it that took the time
Had today off work today and as it was nice this morning I decided to paint my inlet and fuel guard. I'm not certain though whether this is too much black with the engine cover on
Or off
All this about don't spend more on the car than what it's worth as being an argument not to boost a Clio I don't understand as all cars depreciate. In 2-3 years you may have lost 3-4k off the replacement car anyway. The reliability issue would be the major one for me if I wanted to boost the...
Never owned a 200 but do a 172. I used to think the 172 was noisy on long journeys however having driven a brand new astra gtc for a four hundred miles trip I take it back.
172 is fast handles well good on fuel and embarrasses allot of more expensive cars. The downside is you get no respect for...
So with the hot weather which has now disappeared I decided to regass my aircon with one of those DIY halfrauds kits. As I was gassing it one of the pipes burst. The bolt holding the pipe to the compressor was missing. Here is the offending pipe.
I sourced a replacement off here. Big thank...
It's plastidip. The colour is more in ya face than I had expected! It doesn't look bad but I gave to say up close it's no substitute for a fresh set from the powder coaters. Will more than do though until I get the second set off. They're all prepped and ready to go!
Well I'm still waiting for my father in law to powder coat my spare set of wheels.
In the mean time I bought these
And did this
Which turned out like this
Been awhile since I've updated this thread. The 172 dog began to make a raspy blowy sound. On closer inspection I noticed that my centre section was blowing right where the pipe is welded into the centre silencer. A bodge of gun gum and some resistant tape was put in place however this made no...
Well it did turn out to be a bad centre section. My bodge repair of heat proof tape and gun gum didn't hold. As you can see from the pics it had blown a full corner of my bodge away.
New klarius centre now fitted. I have to say these are the worst fitting exhausts I have ever experienced I...
Well been back under it tonight and these a slight blow on the centre pipe. I've gun gummed it but this has made lite difference. I've replaced the rear poly flex bush from the rear mount for a standard one as I wondered whether it was down to the exhaust vibrating. A little quieter but not by...
Hello fellas having a strange one with my 172. As the car gets hotter the exhaust gets louder & raspier to the point where I presumed there must be a leak or a blow in the system. I've been under the car from front to back and there is no leak I can find. It seems to be coming from either the...
Perhaps shagged centre mount has meant excessive movement which has been accentuated by the stiffer rear. Either way I'll not know until I get under it today
Had mine on for a short period however the welds on my centre section have cracked. I don't know wether I can attribute this to the mount but I do wonder if it's too stiff and so has contributed to the welds going
There is a large white connector plug in the fuse box next to the battery. The pins get corrosion and can cause limp mode. A bit of sand paper and wd on them may solve your problem
