We have an Avaya IP office and we use this for all our calls.
However, this is an addition to that.
For those that use it all the time at work, is it used as your main inbound/outgoing call device?
Agreed on Facetime, Skype since acquired by MS has certainly demonstrated a degraded service.
Hi,
Do any of you use Skype at work?
Some employees would like this feature, but I am unsure about it.
The reason for it, is to join conference calls with some of their clients who are on Skype and maybe video conferencing.
Would like your thoughts if possible, such as deployment/user...
Hi,
Just wondering how you IT guys manage your documentation/configuration/notes for your own personal record.
At the moment, I make notes here, there and everywhere, which is not ideal.
Did consider wordpress, as if I make it "live" then other people might benefit at some point. But can't...
This is interesting.
Two of my "clients" both using Samsung laptops have been having issues.
Both had their wireless disappear, just randomly over the last month.
The software could not see the wireless, windows device manager saw the wireless device, however was not recognised (always was...
Hi,
Struggling with the mother's photos on her iPhone.
I'm wondering how you guys manage and organise your photos, or how you have set it up.
Currently, she hooks up the iPhone to her computer and syncs the photos since last time, which creates a folder with a time/date but she doesn't want...
Agreed too :)
What an awesome idea to do it through the channels, but we know that loop will be closed off soon.
We need a true multimedia tool, I think Plex is the way to go, but we need some compatible/reliable devices and the ATV2/3's are good, but not brilliant. Shame.
Now that these...
The ATV, unless jailbroken doesn't really provide much though really.
The interface is shocking, functionality is not that great. Very limited. Albeit saying that, it's a nice product.
At least this one connects to a NAS and all of that, which the ATV2 doesn't.
Wonder if plex will work on it...
Here she is......... hahahaha.
We use it a little bit, got about 15 numbers.
I'll check them out.
I think I might look at some other alternatives.
Would love to create an online PBX too, just for simple things.
Hi,
We currently use eFax, but they have been a pain and wacking up the pricing.
Tried Gamma's fax to email service, shocking.
Considering creating our own service and putting it in our own data center.
Any of you lot do this?
Thanks,
G
Mmmmmmmm thinking of getting this too.
I would then backup my macbook pro and mac min and what ever else, via this, to my Synology box, that would then replicate to the synology box at work.
So speed is a lot better, was setup easy? Can you do any funky stuff with it such as port forwarding...
Ahhhhhhhhhhhhh sh1t!!!
Nothing recent came up on the search and I didn't go into the mac thread.
Thank you very much Luke for pointing this out to me :)
My apologies, would a mod please delete this thread.
Sorry about this.
Hi,
My router at home supplied by PlusNet is pants.
I was considering getting an ubiquiti router and a couple of unify devices for my home wifi, being a nerd.
However, did not realise Apple had released a new Airport Extreme, so considering that possibly...
Are you on wired or wireless when doing that speed test?
Our Plusnet is around 70mb, wired or wireless in the same room but their router is so shocking that if I change room, whilst on wireless, it drops to around 10mb :(
I thought my 70mb was quick for downloading stuff, but crikey your's...
The other good thing about the Samsung's as you know is not only the Freeview/Freesat built in, but also the PlexApp that's available which is supported on the 7000 series. I am looking at getting this model too. Wanted the Sony HX853 but changed my mind.
Thanks for the update guys
The other benefit is the fixed IP for a one off price of £5 :) versus the typical £15 + VAT per quarter from BT/Sky and most other providers.
BT do provide the sports aspect now, for their customers which is rather good if you're a sports nut.
Rather happy with Plusnet so far, the wifi from...
If you want to play. Don't be tight and get yourself a real account.
I would be very wary though, possibly could lose data and have quite a few issues.
Have fun though.
Just doesn't look like Apple,
Seems a combination of Android and Windows Phone.
New functionality welcome, but the look is nothing like I had expected.
You don't need anything else you donut for plex!!!
Plex scrapes all your data and uses IMDB for it.
Just make sure you have the right folder structure for it, have a look at their site for how it should be.
If for some reason it doesn't pick it up right, you can edit it through plex.
It's certainly interesting.
They have some good features coming up, but it doesn't quite look polished yet.
The designs for the icons and so on, don't feel like Apple's standard concepts.
A bit like when the ATV2 gui was released, it didn't feel right, still doesn't.
We will see :)
