In general, bigger wheels means harsher ride, increased tramlining, less progessive limit and decrease in acceleration.

Get yoko A539s, excellent dry grip performance and last pretty well. Wet grip is only ok though.

Check your tyre pressures. If the rears are over inflated, the rear will be more skittish. In general lower pressure will give you more grip, but only up to a certain point.

That grand saved will pay for the insurance and a few aftermarket products, so yes, you could say people with imports/supermarket cars are laughing, laughing at the Renault dealers.;) and the difference when selling private the difference between imports and UK is small compared to the savings made.
