my best prices for four at the moment (not fitted) are
£205 for 4x Toyo Proxes T1-R
£330 for 4E Michellin PE2's
cant seem to find the hankook in 195/46 R16 sizes. I'm sure people were recommending the V12 Evo
those prices dont really mean much though as it depends on how much long they last
Hi guys,
been searching the forums for thos and havent really found a good answer
I am trying to decide what new tyres to go for with PE2's, Toyo T1R's and Hankook V12 evo on the shortlist.
I am currently on PE2's which were on the alloys when I bought them a few months back. Been happy with...
Not if I get a set with the same key, and the ones in halfords looks the same.
I'd rather not just buy one which looked the same, I rather know what I should be getting.
...I think there was about 13 different McGard sizes for locking wheel nuts so why guess?
Am I needing M12 or M14 for instance?
Yep I have tried removing by tightening the others as much as I can.
Yes you can get them removed by finding a garage that will do it, this typically involved drilling out, or welding something to the offending locking nut - either way destroying it...
Hey All,
I purchased some 16" Oz ultraleggeras off a former member on here and he gave me the set of McGard locking nuts he had for them without packaging etc (just the bolts and the key).
Anyway after putting them on it seems I cant get them off not as the key is trashed.
McGard in Germany...
Re: iPhone "must have" apps?
Cheers.
It took long enough! The yanks have had if for over a month, have they struggled translating it to english I wonder
Yeah but I'm in the thick of buying and doing up my house, i would rather buy four later when I am more comfortable than to have to find the moolah for two in the next few months.
Thats kinda what this post was about as really I want to put the ones with more grip on the front
Yeah that pretty much what the guy I bought them from said. Particulalry with winter months and he talked about risking the back end slipping out. Though I dot exactly rag my clio round the corners, so I kinda want to put them on the front as they will probably be due a change all at the same...
The sun is out so I might put my new second hand alloys with Tyres on this afternoon.
Question is two have 3.5mm tread, two have 5mm. Both PE2's.
Should I put the 3.5mm ones on the rear as they will still last on the back for sometime.
I'm not sure what's best really. I don't really want to...
Hmm. Torx would be hard to get hold of off the shelf. Depending on size it might just be possible to replace them with socket head ones.
If anyone has spare I'd buy. But at the moment I don't even know want size or type if unwanted to try n buy some screws in the shops.
When I got my 172, the engine cover was separate as it had been removed for painting and the screws lost.
I assume they are allen key - socket head screws.
Can anyone confirm this, or even better tell me what length and size thread they look i.e. M6's
Thanks
Dave
Not sure if I'm doing something wrong but I can't get my bonnet up.
I lift the lever in the passenger side footwell. (there may have been a click the first time i did this I can remember) but if I do it now I can't here any unlocking click.
If I go to the bonnet it doesn't seem to have lifted...
I was considering these earlier in the week as an alternative to second hand Oz ultraleggeras or Speedline Turini's
Wolfrace Pro Lite
Think they would look good on a clio, the coloured rim is personal taste, also available in blue (I was going to paint to match the alloys)
available for...
I'm just looking for some other peoples thoughts mate.
I've still a few days before I can sort anything.
The jury is still out with me, I might have to do a photoshop, and think hard about the extra money which would still be in my wallet
No not a fan of the standard alloys. too much metal for me. Disliked four spokes and lots of metal since my first car (a Citroen AX GT)
Fair comments about the refurbs and powder coating.
My house kind of keeps me busy enough so am just wanting something I can stick on, not that I need to...
the standard size. Whatever they were when I bought the car about a month ago. Don't think they are anything special and I think there is more than one brand on. I know the rear are two different brands anyway
I plan on selling the original alloys on (they are the original 172 alloys)
i've actually been thinking if that should be the first thing I should do if i get them - put the 3.5mm on the back and the 6mm on the front.
I need to put a lot of money into the house in the next few months so Ideally I don't want to be having to get new boots for my clio that soon.
Cheers...
this is what I am finding with the ultraleggeras. Oz have purposely from what I gather reduced the flow of them into stockists by greatly increasing their price.
You used to be able to get 4 with budget tyres for about £650, now you are looking at £700-£900 just for the wheels in graphite. A...
