Its nothing to worry about. When the car is cold, the oil is much more viscous, and so a greater oil pressure is required to allow it to circulate through the engine properly.
Once the car warms a little, the noise goes.
Yea my cup averages 24mpg. Thats reving to 7k sometimes and pottering around at others. An accurate average Id say.
If youre unsure. Fill up, reset the trip mileage, wait till tank is empty, then divide the number of miles on the trip computer by how many gallons your car takes. If the...
As stated, the coolant temperature is reported back to the ECU so that more fuel can be added, as when the engine is cold, only the lightest parts of the fuel actually mix with the air and burn. This is why the car runs very smokey when cold.
The ECU is given a percentage to increase the...
Well lead is a well known knock resistant additive. It is totally illegal though. Leaded fuel has been banned for a few years now. To answer your question, if your car asks for 95 RON, you wont see any benefits from using a higher octane fuel.

If the final drive ratio is kept the same and the last gear is about the same ratio as the road car there is no reason why is couldnt do that top speed. Just means gears 1, 2, 3, and 4 would be close and the last 2 would open out a bit.
Plugs and leads will not make any difference - no matter what youre told or sold.
The only time they can make a difference is when you require a hotter or colder running plug because of extensive engine modifications. You will lose power for fitting wrong ones, and gain it for fitting the...

I phoned R-Sport and they said a brochure will be ready by the end of this month. The modification list is ready, but the prices are still being discussed.

MarkRS: The rev limiter on a production car is to stop the car being reved into an area that can do damage to the engine. So if you are only hitting the limiter and bouncing off it, how can it possibly do any damage? It is a bad way to drive, but it wont damage the car!
Owzy: Agreed. If you...

Rich-D: You have a point there about the optimistic fw figures and I personally prefer to go by wheel power (or hub power as some of the new dynos measure).
Its pretty scary how accurate some of the new rollers can be though. ;)
Rich-D: The RR measures the torque at the wheels through the revs and converts the figure to bhp.
The flywheel reading is only an estimate which comes about by measuring the drag on the run down and adding this to the wheel power figure.
DannyBoy: A very nice result indeed. Im not sure about...
You cant really over rev the 172 if its cold anyway. The rev limiter intrudes at about 6250rpm until the oil has warmed up which is about 10 minutes for me on an average winters morning. I never rev above 3,500rpm until the coolant gauge reaches normal temp. After this time the oil will be warm...

You should be fine as long as you dont turn the gain up to max on the amp. Why would you want to run 2 ohms instead of 4 ohms, when 4 ohms will give out more than enough power to run the sub. Youll loose a lot of dampening because of it.
Its not a silly amount if you think about it. You could fit 100hp jets to a 172, but the turbo is better in the long run, and I would happily place a bet on which would blow up first.
For that 5 grand, youll be getting reliability as well as a turbo conversion. I wouldnt like to say how much...
My next road cars a Skyline R34. There are so many tuning parts and options for it. Will eventually be looking for around 700bhp. Not for another 3 or so years though.
Track-wise, I have a Westfield coming in the summer which Ill power with a Suzuki Hyabusa engine. Nice!
