it's more than you think. Sometimes i get a bad smell of oil, allthough mostly it's okay. I just put a breatherfilter on the end of the tube/pipe.
No worries.
Plus the fact that they are all made of s**t.
I'm watching/changing them coming ?? miles for the third time.
I am going to stay OEM though.. Car is just right when having them renewed all round :)
Offset is different. 172 offset (regular non cup) is 43
The 182 offset is 48. So when putting the 172 wheels on they will stick out more by 5mm
Tyres can go on either yes
I have just re-tightened mine , better go have a looksee if the second nut on the tensioner is still in place after reading this
Never had problems, only when they changed the belt last time i was getting a squeel every time on startup. Was'nt given the right tension so i tightened it some more.
it's ......... a lot of work ??
Engine-management also being one of the big concerns. Check out the supercup thread ; it is the new inlet project that comes close to an itb kit, only MUCH cheaper (because for one its using OEM management i believe)
wow, you better watch the stick mate. I used this stuff before on another car. No probs; never using a drop of oil.. but then suddenly it went like crazy, it's like water this stuff. Stick to Reno-specs i wouls say.
MOTUL 300V 10W40 is the juice i'm putting in , maybe i'll trie to get the...
second lambda does nothing.. only tells you your cat may be faulty but does'nt do anything to engine-management/mixture . I've had mine tied away on my Saxo 16v decatted, was fine.
yep, common..
be ready to change mounts every 30k . They last longer but they wear pretty fast , bringing a lot of enginemovement which worsens throttle response/steer reponse etc.
When changed it will feel like a "new" car :)
can also be a lambda - sensor , probably only doing this when cold ? Second lambda sends signal that the cat is not up to nick . This may happen when cat is cold because it does'nt work when cold. Has to be hot to be able to extrude the harmfull gasses
I do'nt want to rain on Andyman's parade , but mine indeed made 190 at the fly without cams. This was without cams, but with a good filter setup and a decat exhaust + Fastchip.nl remap .
Now with cams (being Colombo & Bariani) it's making about 200 at the fly.
Andy, this must have been a...

my experience/choice of cams.. I also did the 182 manifold.
the first page shows wrong RR results, further on page 2 they are corrected, the before + after
I do'nt fully understand the pulsing theory, and a slight knowledge-lack of English language ..:o
I thought the pulsing spoken about took place at the in + outlet of the engine ? And the smoothening out of the ports (when not worked on right) will worsen the pulse effects ? When looking at...
Nice one that short shifter Alper , good choice. Came out best on an independent test above 2 others, one being a genuine Renault sport one i believe !
This one is on my want list too , first up are tyres :( (+ some Speedlines)
^^ yes i've heard about the pulsing .. also why inlets/ports should'nt be machined to a "smooth" finish because of this pulsing in the inlet/exhaust area
flow being more important on turbo'd cars i guess
i think you've mis-written here ? How can the 172 manifold be "preferable" (over the 182 mani??) when aiming for the max power ?
The 4-2-1 design is for better flow ; Why would Renault change the design of the manifold if there was nothing to be gained..
You seem to know pretty much about...
I kind of tucked it away for a "worst case scenario" MOT-wise. I do'nt think the local boys around the corner doing their MOT will ever look for this, but when they get checked themselves by the officials i think these people look a bit further.
(over here they get random checks and officials...
the inlets did you very good then !
Mine was also around the 190 before cams, just exhaust + uprated filter so it's possible. The way an engine is run in says a lot about the power it will make later on i think.
These engines, when warm (!) , should see redline very often to make good...
