Bigger turbo , injectors, fuel pump and map are main things towards that power, obviously other things inlet/ exhaust.
Anyway, thats not at question, its the fitment im wondering about??
Car is quite low, what negative effect does that have to handling?
id have thought rear needed little or no camber as there will be no tyre roll surely?
Id rather have it completely planted with minimal understeer or oversteer! Dont like either, they only occur once youve lost grip ! :race:
Fk Konigsport coilovers (koni shocks, fk springs), solid top mounts, polybush lower arm.
Dunlop SP slicks and also R888s.
standard ARBs but i hear wWhiteline rear is a good upgrade?
Oh no, i want a 20VT in mine now....
Awesome job!
Any chance of some helpful info?
Why did you decide against using the VAG management? Can you only get limited power from it?
Are mounts just made from box section/ plate to mate up between VAG/ Renault?
Thanks!
Unfortunately i came across a Clio which someone has put a 20Vt in and now i cant see past the idea of doing it myself! :dapprove:
Seems the best way by far of getting loads of power for a decent price, doing it yourself anyway.
It would probably be a job for next winter so i can get...
For a track clio, whats the kind of camber you run front and rear?
Id be running 888s or slicks.
Obviously best way for me to find best setup is by using it on track and measuring tyre temps across the tyre, but was hoping for a good starting point?
I have camber adjustable coilovers and will...
Yeh door cards finish it off well, inside is painted with a spray gun!
Yeh i seen RSRs are £260 a set, how do you compare them to 888s? I dont want to spend £260 because theyre cheap, to just wish i bought 888s! If 888s are better id rather spend the money!
Cheers mate. Remembered Fraser. Lol
Thanks! Cage is MSA/ FIA approved so id rather not go fannying about with it when i dont need to. Although it looks cool with harness bars, its just extra weight, money, time and hassle- which isnt needed! Id rather build it and use it than spend my life doing a never-ending project :race:
Thanks G, ive got Brembo max discs, CL RC5+ pads, AP 5.1 brake fluid, ball joints, track rod ends, suspension arm polybushes all to put on it aswell as remove and clean up the coilovers for making easy adjustment.
Then ill set camber and tracking and hopefully get it corner-weighted.
Then an...
Fitted my ScangaugeII to the dash where radio info was
Fitted Aerocatches, spent ages perfecting their position so they open/ close spot on!
Removed foglights for fitting some ducting.

Got most of inside done last night and today, all painted, loom wrapped in loom tape and P clipped in place , doorcards made from ABS and fitted (cheers Findlay!), polycarbonate windows all fitted. just needs few finishing bits done and car needs a good wash again!

Re: Road/Track 172
Only number 7 is required before mapping though?? :D
What kind of power you hoping for? Dont they make around 210bhp with throttle bodies? Cant remember if youve got cams too..?
Front of car/ cage painted to get the dash back in and get it running again!
Now to get some door trims made, paint the rest and have rear windows fitted. Hopefully be done by Sat!
Haha yeh, it isnt a bit plate hanging over the edge like a diving board.. :headno:
Its bent down and out and welded to the floor, like a dog leg as Neil says.
Stop girning over it, its secure for fu ck sake, or id change it wouldnt i. :rasp:
You bent 6mm plate!!? I doubt if it was fixed in any decent way that could happen, why on earth you used 6mm in the first place!?
3mm plate is strong enough to make car ramps never mind hold 37kg a side.
i can assure you they do not budge, and have already been passed by scruitineering ;)...
3 Bolts for front and main roll bar, back stays need 2. Back stays also just need a spreader half the size of mains. Yous need to read the bloody book. Lol.
Im going to re-fit standard door handle into the ABS plastic panels.
The windows are so tight in the seals that they hold themselves up...
Sorry just realised i hadnt replied! Hopefully have a shot at Super lap Scotland at some point this year, we'll see!!
Full cage is made of CDS, its a Sparco FIA/ MSA approved one.
Im happy with the doors as they are for now, hopefully be light enough as it is. How much weight do you save with...
At least you had already done all the s**t part, tar etc!!
Front windows are a good fit in the seal so a couple of screws to hold them up will be fine, for the rear i bought the bonding kit, did you not see that? Comes with stuff to put the black surround back round the windows edge too. Ive...
Ive now stripped doors back to next to nothing, ready for polycarbonate windows and inner trims to be made up.

Your getting as serious as us! Haha. Did you run it with an interior until now?
What coilovers you using?
My windows came from ACW yesterday, not removed the protective cover yet but they look well made and fronts fit nicely, theyre a good buy!
Why you keeping the cigarette lighter, like to...
Thankfully, your talking p1sh. Haha.
Just checked regs, no mention of cds or anything, although there is regs ours should meet them- 3mm steel minimum.
Just seen aswell- 6 point harness needs 6 eyelets, i just fitted 5 thinking 2 crutch would be fine on one. Regs are a joke!
Removing spot welds is a nightmare!! We decided to run 3mm plate from front floor brace over rear and weld to floor, means we can have lots of seating positions if required and is a fair bit easier job!
I got the plate from Magma, 3x50mm in 1 metre lengths.
