I was reading Markcup's thread on his quest for loosing weight which never stops :) .
And I think the idea of changing the steeringrack for a non-powersteering one which Mark did is great, and am looking into things to do this aswell.
After asking for the rack here in Holland at the chop-shop...
Exhaust-manifold is hitting the subframe , this is the knocking you hear. Next time you're under the car, see how much space there is between the two.. think it's only like 5mm or so
they're heavy but very strong.. but i think when stepping down from the 16inch to these the weightdifference will be 0
ofcourse if you have enough to spend like some lucky guy on here that won over 30,000 today:eek:   :D
then you can go for the magnesium which are lightweight...
anyone ever clean and re-oil these ITG filters ? I know i have'nt yet in the last 10K
Do'nt like the oily filters but the Clio can handle them . (unlike scoobys!, they can majorly break down when the oily stuff gets on the MAF sensor)
Cleaning and re-oiling really nescesary on these...
Mark has your steering gone heavier , or is it barely noticable especially with car rolling ? (can imagine the parking got worse)
+ steering reacts more precise to your actions ?
nice gokart it must be with these figures , your car
Henk Fastchip has also done some mapping for a German customer who loads up his tank with RON100.. was really good i heard.
I think this is the only way to get maximum benefit from the higher RON fuels; get a map to suit
He has removed the big nut-thing from in between which is used to raise it up has'nt he ? I can see the "hat" part still being there where the spring sits on, one thing missing is the big nut .. (?!)
^^ but in the pic i can see he has removed the upper part of the adjuster , making the spring sit on the platform instead of the upper part ?!
to me it looks like this anyway ?
i think there is supposed to be some resistance in the airintake. This is too big of a change in comparisson to the OEM box, just way too much air ..
Unless remapped to suit this filter , it will lose throughout the rpm range. Torque and top-end went down when i tried this one. I had the...
great sound yep !
but performance went way down on mine..
+ check your mpg , this will also get worse with one of these.
I sold mine
can't beat the sound though
lose the OEM cafs and put on some uprated/bigger ones , 70mm or so
The standard ones are 50mm i think, better to get some more air in there with the cams
as straight forward as i could get with my reply m8 :)
wheel-suspension setup is very important.. I've seen (on german tv) the worst accident ,filmed by victims friends on their handy, this was a Golf with Euro style wheels (stretched tyres and all) , the car just went from under him at very...
anyway, best is to stay within the perimeters of the design.. sure people with spacers will say it's okay, i would too if i had them on the car ;)
like i said, the 172 FF has a different track-width (about o,5mm each side), only because of the different wheels (ET) as the hubs are the same...
@ Tigger ; find out for example the ET of the Cup Turinis. Compare this to your 172 FF wheels and the diffrence will tell you which spacer is neccescary to get the 172 Cup wide track.
Mind you ; you can'nt just throw on some spacers to your liking + go 2cm wider on each side. (well you could...
get two metrs length.. then you can feed all the way down to the arch and cut some off. Very frustrating when mounting and finding out they're too short
Venair supplies the ducts in your country
i'll be following this thread.. i changed mounts all round and still knocking.
put the washers under the othe mount aswell, might help yes. But i'm thinking Renault made the mounts so flexible that it will still be knocking, even then.
I know where you can buy genuine Sport mounts ; maybe...
