I don't have one. But judging by other threads I've seen it's not a shift light, it's to tell you you're being a bit of a spanner and to change up so I'm assuming you can't alter when it comes on.

Just pull! lol. I used a flat headed screw driver wrapped in electrical tape to lever mine out though. They put up a bit of a fight but got there in the end. Then the bulbs just screw out at the back iirc. Graham
