They are slightly harder to fit, as two upper mounting points are required rather than one. They won't feel any different to wear, and as long as you are using a seat with harness slots they should perform about the same in a crash IMO.
I've heard mixed reports about them - half the people you ask say they're pretty good, half say they are crap. I'm in the same position as you, don't want a boot full of sub box, so I've gone for a pair of Genesis 6 x 9 subs in an acoustic parcel shelf. Have a look on www.talkaudio.co.uk for...
Brian, no my unit doesn't try to eject CD's, but it's a CDE-9881 so it'd struggle to eject them anywas as there's no slot in the front panel. It keeps station memory for at least 36 hours, which seems a long time ?
I fitted an Alpine unit to my 182 a couple of weeks ago, and didn't need to swap the red and yellow leads around, it all works fine. Perhaps either Alpine or Renault have changed their standard wiring ?
Come to Demon Tweeks and have a look ? Best to have a look at the catalogue first though, try www.demon-tweeks.co.uk

The usual rule of thumb is that if you can get your thumbnail in a scratch it won't polish out. The difficulty of the repair also depends on what colour the car is. If it won't polish out, try ringing round your local Chipsaway franchisees - ask them if they do "Mirraclear" repairs, which are...
Don't bother if the 182 hasn't got the Cup packs and you haven't had any problems with your 182. For all you know the 182 is a "Friday" car and has been returned to them !
I need some components putting in the front, a false floor in the boot with an amp underneath, and a few other pieces doing in my 182. I'm working 6 days a week at the moment and I don't have the experience or time to do a good job myself so I'm looking for someone to do the install for me...
LOL - we have the same spec car, in the same colour, but mine has different wheels. Not only that, but we have the same camera too ! Nice pics, here's a quickie of mine, plan to get out when I have more time and take some better ones
