In think as far as people's perception goes, definitely. Or less chavvy, at least. I want rid of my exhaust because it attracts the wrong kind of attention. Not because I'm bothered about peoples opinions. But there's no doubt I probably get labelled a chav by some, albeit never to my face.

Fair point. Whilst my St/St exhaust was something of a necessity due to the chocolate OE item, I sometimes wish I didn't have it. A 172, unmolested, is a pretty innocuous looking car tbh.

The Chav contingent in 1*2's is still relatively low in comparison to other hatches (Saxo etc) where I live, although my first instinct on this was that it is more liekly to do with insurance than anything else. The money my apprentices pay for even bog standard motors is eye-watering tbh. But...

Have no experience myself, although from what I read (I'm looking into coilies atm) the H&R's are better suited to 'fast road' rather than track. I'd imagine with slicks you're going to need something pretty firm.

Engine oil... oil filter... air filter (replace or clean if foam)... maybe cabin/pollen filter... don't think there's much else.
