Trust someone as vain as you to think of that kind of attention. ;)
Attention as in being tailgated/egged on by chavs. Seemingly quite a few in my town. :(
"I really don't understand the vexing. I thought the OP was quite broad and well balanced. I was inviting a discussion among like minded petrol heads"
"Re: Is the 172/182 now a charver bucket?"
I think you may need to reconsider your thread titles in future, if that really is your aim ;)
In think as far as people's perception goes, definitely. Or less chavvy, at least.
I want rid of my exhaust because it attracts the wrong kind of attention. Not because I'm bothered about peoples opinions. But there's no doubt I probably get labelled a chav by some, albeit never to my face.
Fair point. Whilst my St/St exhaust was something of a necessity due to the chocolate OE item, I sometimes wish I didn't have it.
A 172, unmolested, is a pretty innocuous looking car tbh.
I think you're a prize prick, Roy, but I credit you with enough intelligence to know that you simply can't have expected anything else?
As a non-chav (?!) driving a 1*2 occasionally, I personally couldn't care less. It's inevitable with any car in the hot hatch category. They all have Chavs...
Whilst we're on stereotyping and sweeping generalisations.... those f**king Pumas. They're the weapon of choice for hapless split arses that can't drive or the greater spotted queer chav. Shame. Apart from the ridic ride height, they used to be ok.
The Chav contingent in 1*2's is still relatively low in comparison to other hatches (Saxo etc) where I live, although my first instinct on this was that it is more liekly to do with insurance than anything else. The money my apprentices pay for even bog standard motors is eye-watering tbh.
But...
Have no experience myself, although from what I read (I'm looking into coilies atm) the H&R's are better suited to 'fast road' rather than track. I'd imagine with slicks you're going to need something pretty firm.
Yeah, I'm considering uprating.
I have a theory that in remapping the F4R engined Clios with FBW, the throttle is allowed to open and close much quciker. I think this is putting extra stress on (already worn!) engine mounts, if you're on/off the throttle (like me :o). So uprated ones is a...
How much to replace? Pretty sure mine are fubar. Upper engine mount is definitely, so figured it makes more sense to replace the lot, depending on cost. Is it worth upgrading the mounts?
Also getting a knocking when going over bumps. Sounds/feels like a worn bush somewhere, coming from...
I'd pick the 200. Every time. Never liked 205's (guess I'm one of Ali's bummers?). Although the only ones I was ever exposed to were largely rusty old sheds.
That said.... for hatches of a similar era... Williams 1 > all.
EDIT - Similar to 200 Cup money?! ::eek...
You obviously didn't read it, other wise you'd have realsied I don't need any advice on how to restore it!! ;)
Bugger. She will not be best pleased. That said, you generally only need to get burnt once in order to kick yourself into backing your s**t up!!
Is it possible to recover data from an iPhone that will not turn on? It reboots, shows the apple logo for 20 seconds, then turns off again.
Can get the phone into recovery mode in order to restore it, but she has lots of pictures of our little man on it that she really doesn't want to lose...
Dropped the bugger about 10 times and got away with it, but the 11th drop did for it. Cracked the screen quite badly.
Where's the best place to get a replacement from and how much is the cost?
I have insurance, but have recently found out my excess is £150!
Hmmm. Strange, as I had an advisory on my last MOT for not having a spare wheel. Why would they put that if it's not part of the test? Just a bit of friendly advice?!
Chaps,
Trying to take some shots of my little lad (2 weeks old today!) but struggling to get the effect I want. I want to recreate something like the image below
Any recommendations on lighting etc to do this? Preferably on the cheap!!! I have black card/cloth etc... but currently no...
