I've got his number already and the part number, was planning on timing Adam yesterday actually. Just completely forgot. Cause ill be ordering the gear selector seal kit through him anyway.
Thanks though pal :)
Hi guys,
I've got a slight oil leak in this area, I know the gear selector is also a common leaking point so that's being changed, but I'm just thinking whilst I'm doing that and an oil change I may aswell get the boot changed.
Has any one recently bought an O/E one? I'm just trying to work...
That's great, thanks for the input Mick,
Yer I've heard a lot of people have said its one of the better mods for these
quite looking forward to go out for a blast now, downside is the car probably won't move till next weekend lol, so hopefully it'll be drier.
That is a good way of putting it I suppose haha.
Another Nuneatoner lol, god this place is crawling with clio sports haha.
I've put it on the soft setting atm and see how I get on with it.
It'll probably only see the track 3 or 4 times, so ill adjust it in the summer nearer a track day and...
Also I've been doing some searching to see if I can find anything, I found someone mentioned about keeping the drop links short, so the bolts wound down as far as they can go. This is currently how mine are anyway but should they be longer? Will it make much difference?
Hi guys,
hope you all had a good Xmas :)
I'm just in the middle of fitting my whiteline arb (while the dry weather lasts lol)
and was just curious what settings people tend to run it on?
The current set up is standard shocks and cooksport springs.
The car may see the odd track day and that...
I said to myself I wouldn't get anything car related this year as I normally get car stuff, but I couldn't resist and I splashed out a bit this year, I treated myself to a RS2 inlet set up, can't wait to get it on.
The GF got me a whiteline anti roll bar
and the parents got me a dodo juice...
When you say the lower gearbox mount, is it the one that the gearbox sits on you want?
If so I got this one through Andrew page, it came in a Febi box but had the Renault part number on it. May be able to find the part number if you want?
They also do the other 2 mounts. If you get the O/E part...
So slightly of topic there, but are there about this?
I'm looking to fit this weekend, so ideally wanted to get ten ready by then, just really not sure which kit to go for?
I don't think I added the parts up right before, and there is a difference of over £20 just for that cup that screws on...
Yer you do have to take them with a pinch of salt I think
It was just the look of that torque graph I was worried with, and I didn't want any problems with my car, so just thought id try and gain a rough idea of what sort if region.
I also was curious as to what sort if % loss I'd make...
Andrew Page keep them in stock ;) lol
but yer sometimes needs are must and you have to just bite the bullet.
Are you in the trade too I'm guessing? Do you work for a garage or have an account with us?
Cause I can access Ellesmere ports customers. Just need a garage name if you work for one...
Wasn't SNR by any chance was it?
yer I don't blame you mate, I'm the same hate leaving things, not everything is like this but a lot of the time it's left then gets worse and costs twice as much as when the first problem came around.
But £57 is quite a lot more than ours, ill have a nosey...
I bet... how much was it out if interest?
What make was the one you got pal? Was it firstline by any chance?
I can't remember the trade price, it's my sat in tomorrow so I can have a butchers tomorrow for you if you like? Ill drop you a pm with the price of both options :)
Hi pal, yer I'm in the trade. Certainly helps out here an there.
I get my parts from Andrew Page Ltd (since I work for them lol)
We have a depot not too far from you in Ellesmere Port CH65 4FF
Also I forgot to mention the cup on top is actually the older version, not the new updated one...
Hi guys,
I'm planning on fitting my cooksport springs next weekend (can't wait lol)
And thought since its apart I may replace the top mounts as I can get them through work, I have 2 kits available though.
One of the kits i can get is just the bearing and mount itself, but the other comes with...
Yer I just thought that bit was a bit strange, I mean with the graph being that irratic would it be noticeable?
yer it was a hub Dyno, I can't think how I'd be so down on power if that is the case.
I had it checke over by TCR (Total Control Racing) in west mids for service and got them to...
What a great finish, looks absolutly stunning mate....
Really makes me want to get mine detailed now, its just finiding the time and decent weather for it lol
So i finally got round to visiting a rolling road.....
Luckily there was a garage i deal with on a day to day basis who has a hub dyno, so thougth id get him to stick the car on it to see what it was pushing out
Was a little gutted when i wasnt allowed into the room as it was their health and...
For anyone interested heres a link to what ive used, its not too badly priced
http://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B004ZJIP86/?tag=cliospnet01-21
think its a similar price on ebay, ive still got a good half a tin left on the silver, but used 3/4s of the tin on the black and nearly all the clear coat
its very easy mate, if you have the patience have a go yourself pal.
plus when you stand back and look at it after youve done it, its so much better than when somone else has done it for you if you get me :)
It is very simple mate, that was the best part... ok it took a fair while
i mean its...
Yer by all means feel free to pop by mate,
I'm about most weekends, just give a heads if a few days before so I can make sure ill be around.
Just drop a text or something dude....
oh yee just thought forgot to reply to you yesterday haha.
Maybe it'll make you buy another one, whether it be...
Thanks guys really appreciate the comments :)
I think it's surprising how much of a big difference it makes adding a bit of colour like that,
and for how easy (although a little time consuming depending on what your doing) and cheap it is, it's well worth it.
Thanks dan,
love the selling...
Finally got round to doing this, the engine bay looked realy dull and boring before and just needed to broought back to life some how.
Heres how it was 3 weeks ago
and approx 20 mins after it looking like that...
2 weeks ago i had made a little progress....
Not long after that pic i...
Car does sound great on there mate,
What's the spec dude?
like chip said the transmission loss does seen quite high though.
I had my car on the rollers the other day too, I wasn't allowed inside the room though :(
due to their health and safety etc and it was a small room they had to keep...
Ill agree with the above, I was fortunate it wasn't raining though lol
My hands were killing after and when your on your drive constantly holding your head in the air you soon feel the pain the next day in your neck haha.
I did all of my arb bushes together, the outers were dead easy.
But all...
I did mine a couple weeks back, and it is a right ball ache
however the way I ended up doing it wasn't too bad with a bit of patience and time.
I used a set of large pliers like this....
I found them easier to use than mole grips. Then all I did was close them as much as possible and...
Hi guys.
I've got a scuff on the rear O/S arch/quarter I'd like to get sorted.
I've been to one place so far and they've quoted me £200 to spray the whole quarter panel, now this guy is a pretty decent guy and did a good job on my dads kit car a while back.
But I just wondered if there was...
Hi mate how are ya?
Thanks for the reply, I'd found a few threads but twy just suggested what you mentioned, but I wasn't sure if there was any other methods other people had found useful.
Got the job done now though, took a bit of brute force and swearing lol. But my dad had some massive...
