Used 2 carry cordless impact wrench, sockets, 2 screw drivers, jack, ratchet with extention, torch, elephant tape, electrical tape, cable ties, jump leads and a spare battery with 3/8 ratchet to fit it.
Can you tell I drive a clio? ;)
You don't have to drain the oil from the box, thats only for the passenger side shaft.
If its like the shafts on my valver, obv hub off, knock the roll pin out and bobs your uncle. Much easier than taking out the passenger side!
Need to find a cheap fuel pump, local motor factors etc want over £100 for 1 :S but then I can get a 'motorsport' pump from ebay for £85?? Also they seem to be cheap as chips for others clios/renaults etc :(
hmm could be aux belt slipping? If I force my steering as far as it will go I get a similar kind of juddering noise my aux belt is a bit fcked thou so I assume its that.
Yeah but 60mm on a valver won't lower it as much as they are lower standard anyway. so maybe a 35-40 mm drop compared to standard.
Also thinking about it valver springs would be higher poundage surely due to more engine weight etc? So RL springs might not be ideal?
Fuel pump has been making a whining noise pretty much since I had the car 1-2 years, yesterday it cut out completely though. The whining noise was a lot less quiet, when I turned the key to turn the electrics on you could hear the pump but it was very faint, no where near as loud as before when...
What I normally do is undo the bottom ball joint nuts (take front one off completely or nearly and undo the back one slightly so it tilts) the hub drops, then pull the hub forward and tilt the shock to get the bottom bolt through, then either jack the hub up or just do up the bottom ball joint...
If its the brakes then a) the disc would get stupidly hot very quick b)pad in question would be worn right down!
Does it look excessively worn compared to the other pads?
Glazing is caused by excessive heat on the pad so stamping on it isnt going to do any good surely? Also I've read a few bedding in guides and they all say brake moderately or 70% to a near stop not hard braking :S
Oh rite I just fitted new disks and green stuff pads and was told to brake lightly for 50 miles and avoid slamming the brakes on etc
They gonna be bedded in ok now? :S
If its the cable, make sure u get a genuine renault replacement, do not get one from anywhere else but renault as the non-genuine ones aren't very gd quality and will make ure clutch much heavier and apparently are prone to snapping!
On my clio the rears outlast the fronts maybe 2/3 : 1, and don't spin them that much really... so I would have thought the RWD would go through tyres much quicker

little way down it outlines the differences in cup suspension.
Not sure what grp A springs mean, no doubt just Apex jobs but sounds better if he says 'Group A'
