Ive just got a mk1 vee and absolutely love it compared to my 172, speed isnt everything and the vee has bags more low down torque so driving everyday dont have to constantly change gear to look for the 4.5k "kick" can use 6th gear all day long even at 30mph.
Its everyones personal choice but...
I like Clios still at the moment, would get another make but just not any that I really want at the moment.
Started off with a 1.4 Clio Maxim S, then ph1 172 and this week got a mk1 V6.

Very impressed actually, miles better than chamois imo seems to soak up everything as soon as you lay it on the pannel, hardly needs wiping
Hi,
Just thought I would do my first real detailing thread as was a nice day today so spent about 4-5 hours cleaning the 172.
I used:
Megs lambswool mitt, 2 buckets and AG shampoo (which is rubbish as dont get many suds at all)
Miracle drying towel (first time ive used it and took seconds to...
Cool think i will go for the Alpine then, only have a nano at the moment but that will do for a few months then may get the new 80Gb's.
Is the sound quality really much better than say the JVC or simelar?
It does look smart which tbh is the main reason i like it lol
Hi,
I am after a new headunit and have narrowed it down to my favourite two:
Alpine iDA-X001
JVC: KD-AVX2
I have seen good reviews on both but am undecided and have a couple of questions:
Would the Alpine work with the standard CD changer under the drivers seat?
Which...
Hi,
I was going to buy a Megs polisher a few weeks ago but have just bought an iceburg v6 which has been PC'd recently and want to keep it looking good.
I am basically after a good polish to apply by hand, is Dodo Juice Light Fantastic any good?
Or should I go for a hard wax such as Dodo...
I am not sure i want to take the new car on the track tbh mate lol. Which ones do you do as there is one in Abingdon where i live which is meant to be good?
Hi,
Ive done a quick search and couldnt find an answer so,
Is there any way of connecting the standard clio CD changer (Alpine IIRC?) to a JVC headunit? As far as I am aware you cant but not sure?
Thanks for any help :)
James
Yeah, I would happily have this red if there is one available in a few months as its a bit different to all the silver mk1's.
Regarding the interior i am coming out of a ph1 172 so it will be the same lol, luckily my current seats are mint, and had my steering wheel retrimmed in blue leather so...
I really like that colour, I am lookin to get a mk1 vee in march/april and would love an illiad blue but being so rare I probably cant afford one. But this colour looks wicked and would definately be happy with it. :)
I bought a Halfords Pro socket set the other day and looks like it could stand some abuse, although havent used it yet so may be wrong.
But you can get single sockets if you dont want a whole set and they have lifetime guarantee, plus you havent got to wait ages for delivery.
Yeah it will do, ive got the 26" version and has so many connections on the back its great. Mine is used for the pc, xbox 360, freeview etc and still got lots of spare connections should i get more stuff
Not too bad to fit, just had to get front wheels on a few bits of wood as was too low to get stubby screwdriver under :)
Just bent splitter as much as i dared so it looked ok then used the self tappers supplied, the fit at the corners isnt 100% but unless you look really close its fine :)
Good idea :)
Just found this:

That should do the job shouldnt it? Much cheaper than i was expecting too :)
Hi,
I was going to get a PC a few months ago but have waited for the new Megs polisher and my Bday :)
Ive basically got a list of all the suff I am getting in the next 2 weeks but wanted to know what people do regarding lighting, I have a double garage but the lights arent very good :dapprove...
