do any of the joints on any water piped look furred up?? maybe you have a small leak?

Oh and by the way... whats the deal with the so called stainless steel exhaust. I went around my exhaust with a magnet and its only the tail pipe that is stainless...

I dont use it either as the rev counter tells me whats going on, but its just one of those things that seems silly... I took my details to my local renault and they did me a full print off of the cars fitments and fabrication etc etc etc... its really quite handy...

your pour rad-weld straight into the coolant.... Ive used it once to get a car home.I think how it works is as soon as it leaks through a hole in the rad etc it solidifies when it comes into contact with air.It got me home until I could take the rad out and weld it up properly...

how bad is the head gasket ??? could you shove a couple of bottles of rad-weld in it and take a few gallons of water with you...

Try putting the car in gear and pushing it forward or backward just a bit... kind of rock it to move the gear ring around a bit... then try starting it.I had this a few times for some reason the starter motor just jambed (not on my 172)... it sorted itself out after a while.

I had my clutch replaced at 500miles... I had the same problem.Under hard acceleration from standstill the revs just shot up... Apparantly the oil seal on the back of the crank was leaking and letting oil contaminate the clutch.... Renault fixed it with no hassle...

yeah my thought exactly... I mean even if its only as good as say a good quality semi syn then that would be fine by me.Im going to give it a try on my next oil & filter change...
