Took badges off the boot earlier, much gentle rubbing, claying and polishing later and I'm left with this...
Rubbing fingers across these marks they can't be felt at all so it's not an obvious sticky residue or dirt build up that can be cleaned off the surface :S

Focus was on it's way out, 4 corroded springs at recent MOT and 124k + lots of wear and dings.
So...I've been thinking about one for these for about two years now, and last night finally thought "f*** it" why not.
Decided on £2k cost-to-change as a limit and hoped for £1k on the Focus...
Not f***ing happy!!!
I'm at Rockingham in a week, so in advance the Cup got some long overdue TLC today, Tesco carwash followed by a pathetic attempt to rid the wheels of baked on brake dust, tyre pressure check etc.
So I'm out giving it its first proper drive since before Christmas...
My mate got the correct spoiler fitted yesterday after a dealership mix-up...I think I'm in lurve and now thinking how much I could get for my lovely mint condition well cared for 172 Cup LOL. The 200 Cup's run in now so had a proper run out in it, I want one, badly.
I'm fed up of having no speedo in my Cup since a 182 'box was fitted, can I go down the route of making it pick up the speed from ABS rings?
If so, does the speedometer work on the same inputs or will I need a speedo from a 182?
My mate Sean's 200 Cup arrived last Wednesday, so spent Sunday racking up some miles with him.
Can't wait until he can drive it properly, he used to give his RB 182 death :approve:

Found a nice quiet road, waited until no one was around, then teased this one out.

I had no idea the V6 airbox and CAF made this much noise (headphones needed to truly appreciate), quite like it though. New K-tec...

2 minutes of sheer bliss kicking my Cup to death around a 4.2 mile long very wide smooth concrete road running through a massive tank training facility.
Scooby was the only real good tussle, had my arsed handed to me by a Z4M. Lots of calamity.
Rentech get to...
Camera facing backwards for this one, makes you realise just how steep all those climbs and drops were
Some useless marshalling thrown in for good measure too...

Help for Heroes trackday, Bovington tank track, over 4 miles of undulating 12 metre wide smooth concrete.
F***ing epic.
I've Got so much footage to get through, so here's a short wet one...

...or "I fought the South Downs, and the South Downs won".
Went out for a serious hack across the local hills at the weekend, camera facing backwards, very little traffic, lots of overtakes and plenty of pace.
Stayed out far too long and the Cup didn't do too well tbh, got in a bit of a mess...
Spent hours yesterday giving my Cup a going over, then woke up today to find this.
I know who it is, same c*** that did it last time - he's a gonna get a right kicking.
;)
Looks OK I think, it needs lowering slightly though.
Whenever it's connected to the power lead, everything lights up blue as normal, then the screen flashes red 5 times then shuts down, leaving only the buttons illuminated blue.
Road Angel website says this means it needs new firmware, so I've downloaded the latest software release, but as it...
My run in with the cone at Goodwood was a little more severe than I thought.
Spent this morning at Rentech with a new gear linkage and a lot of determination.
Ended up with a working 2nd or a locked 5th, that was it.
So a new 'box is required :(
I'm just after sympathy really. It'd...
After my run-in with a turn-in cone last weekend, I'm just about to stick the Cup on axle stands and get underneath.
Bloke in the pits said the same thing happened to him, and that the 'pinch-bolt' had been knocked causing the linkage to not line up properly or something. Trial and error fixed...
