I do actually buddy. Yours free.
Spent 5mins this morning stripping the engine, gearbox off, clutch out (to check condition, replacing anyway), few other bits removed before the sump...
Even an idiot can spot the issue here...
Once removed you can clearly see it, bent both ways.
Luckily...
I know what you mean! Had to cut this one off in the end, couldn't be arsed f**king around with it.
Got the DCi moved yesterday, so have been able to crack on with it, then tonight, borrowed my mates engine hoist...
Hello!
Swinging around
Out!
Empty!
Will get the engine stripped...
Makes the seat hard to move backwards and forwards as it snaggs on the carpet. I thought about cutting the carpet so it doesn't snag, but haven't got around to it.
I found recaros comfy, they aren't as soft as the standard 1*2 seats, but I liked them.
Cruise if it's got the wiring is easy (same as 172) if it hasn't got the wiring, it's a pig.
I'm pretty certain you won't find a Dci with it specced from factory.
Wheels and interior aren't nice, but due to the rest of the spec, I'd pick one of those anyday over another.
Interior for a 5door clio will be pence, some 1*2 seats if you fancy it. 1*2 wheels to finish it off.
150k is nothing.
Mines on 170k, I bought it on 143k, ragged the f**k out of it for 27k and its always come back for more. Still on factory clutch, turbo, head gasket and gearbox. Had replacement injectors and pump at 143k, only had water pump changed at 150k (due to leakage).
Worry more about...
That Initial is a banging buy, once you get the horrible interior swapped out.
65's are slow, similar performance to a 1.2 Clio. Decatted, intercoolerl, and should you feel like it, remaped, and you'll get decent performance. Mine, decatted and intercooled, 77hp, with a remap it should be...
Ahhh thats fair enough then, I know how picky you are!
I know what thats like!
Certainly easiest to get the head back on, although you'll still need to get the engine higher due to subframe clearance I believe, not a job I've done with the engine in the car though.
Spent the evening removing some more bits from the DCi...
Such a mess
Plan is to remove the engine, check condition of the crank, then go from there.
So I need to remove the stupid ECU cover, and the battery box etc, gear linkage, drive shafts and gearbox mounts, then it should come out...
My DCi is on 170k and is still running sweet. Give them all a test drive, foot hard down in 3rd to 3.5k and keep an eye for dash lights flashing or lacking power, if so, walk away, it'll need injectors/pump, not cheap.
Always look for the best spec one you can, aircon is a must for me now...
Would have taken me years to get time to get rid of it all :P Half of the s**t in the car was from the previous owner, I always thought I'd be scrapping the shell so never worried about it lol
I didn't realise it was as short as that!
Hopefully it goes smoothly!
I can't picture how you've ruined it, get some pics up!
But, they can rebuild them, I enquired a few years back.
Doubt it'll be cheap for new rods however.
Yeah I know where that is, Had family that way.
If you ever want a hand, I'm always offering. I do have some camber bolts I could be tempted to part with too.
Awesomenesss. I told ya the lambda was the issue.
Get the airbags programmed out, If you get it done, and at the Ace tonight, I'll see if I can remember to bring the laptop and I can program them out.
Hopefully cup dials will fix the rest :)
