Picked up some Xenons the other day, took a lot of work and f**king about to actually be able to use them, but they are on, and work.
So got a couple of pics..
And one for good luck...
Still lots more to do to it, More soon!
It cost me £475, Which I'm happy with for the condition of it.
Got the head off last night as I mentioned...
14 clearly bent
Can you say, bent?
Turns out its done all 16, Plus 9 rockers. All ordered up now, Most of it should be here tomorrow, Head is being skimmed, valve guides...
Found this by chance more than anything, Thread on here, PMed and made a 65mile trip Friday night to view it, before going back Sunday to collect. Didn't plan to, but ended up towing it home using my DCi....
Next morning, First time I had properly seen the car in the daylight. Its very clean...
While out on track yesterday at Castle Combe I averaged 29MPG, ragging the f**k out of it, redlining etc.
On the way home, Filled up at Shell just off the M4, and got home 130miles later (M25/M11), after doing 55mph all the way, with the display showing 99.9mpg, I'd love to know how high it...
Whole tyre is pretty soft, wont last a lifetime. I used to have them on my previous car, Now have S-drives and struggling to decide between S-drives and T1R's.
Its on the cards, I need to roll the rear arches, but I have the spacers etc here waiting! I agree the rear wheels need to stick out to at least come close to how the front sits.
I knew Tonka was there, Tried to meet up with him all day but just didn't get together! Didn't know you was there mind!
I was gonna send you a rude message, I had my diag thingy in my car, so woulda happily walked over to your car!
I was on the Weekend Racer stand, was next to the Cliosport stand, but not on the grass, we don't do grass!
Cheers bud. I kinda like the tow eyes, but not so sure.
Already have alcantara covered trims in the car, Just need to find time to do the head lining like I've been planning to for ages!
Do need to take bumper off, but its not that hard, arch liners, four bumper bolts, then disconnect fog light loom. I placed the bumper back on after to save it getting damaged
Looking to refurb my wheels next week, however I need a spare wheel so I can keep the car drive able, planning to do one every evening etc.
So to save the hassle of buying, storing and selling a single wheel, anybody got one they are willing to lend me for a week? Ideally without tyre as ill...
In preperation for Trax last weekend I finally serviced the car, Had been planing to do it for about a week, Well under-due at only 8k miles since the previous service, but it keeps it mint!
Then cleaned it, waxed etc
Paris came round, got a pic
Then Sunday came round and it was time to...
Its not like this, read the guide etc, that is for sports etc.
I've done about 10 throttle body cleans on 1.2's, normally cleaning it all out and replacing, or just cleaning the map sensor helps laods too.
Its not hard, just keep bits in the right place and dont forget where stuff goes.
I failed to get the pics I planned, Got it back together quicky, couple of replaced gaskets, painted engine bits, really smartens up the engine bay, still needs more but its a start!
Final pic before Paris got it back... Looking super clean
Saturday Paris popped over for its first clean since...
Take the rear light out and clean up the pins, mostly the end one with the black wire. Its not earthing very well and earthing via the foglight wire.
It might be too far gone to save though.
Cheers guys.
I doubt I'll buy Turini's, I like it, but unsure really. I think I'll just refurb the 172's, poss in grey.
John, Its just clicked over 158k yesterday, It was well looked after by the previous owner, and I've sort of kept that going, just gets driven hard!
Reasonably close to dan...
Finally got myself a full set of side strips, So gave the car a wash today, looks mint.
2.0 Badges will be removed, I'm painting the DCi badges silver :)
I also picked up a Cup spoiler, Only thing left for the outside now is Xenons! (Handles in the post!)
See you all at Trax next weekend!
:)
You won't solve the smell properly without drying it all, which means removing it, Perfect time to find the leak too.
As always, (as I'm not that far away) my help is on offer :)
If you know exactly what you want, it'll be cheaper to buy it from the likes of Rally Design. You just need to know thread size etc, and lengh, plus the style of nuts/angle you need/want.
IMO, Seats etc out, get the carpet out, and dry, that will help a lot.
More importantly though, is drying the underlay/sound deadening under the carpet, and all the electrical components.
Edit: Beaten to it. I didn't say about removing the underlay etc as I know thats a pig to do
Re: dmallett's titanium ph1
Trax Ticket deadline is tonight I think, or buy on the gate! You know it'll be a laugh, and you might even get your airbag light solved :P
Good to see the Monaco finally go, I think I got my fair share of bits from it :)
