Only just seen this thread again.
You're welcome as always.
As to how its doing it, basically its backfeeding and trying to turn the alternator as a motor, so if you came out to in the morning (after leaving the battery connected overnight) then more than likely it would be quite warm. Its...
You've never seen one go at 70k then? I've seen two (albeit on non-clios, other renaults) at similar mileage.
Its not just the Renault group DCi engines that suffer the same problems. Mileage is irrevlent, if its been looked after, it will be fine.
As the man above said, Failed on the N/S balljoint, Must have missed it when checking for play as it was that side that had the worn TRE too. Popped by the local factors and got a good quality pattern part, fitted that and took it back and got a Pass :)
Now the cars in bits again, Painting the...
Little update tonight...
Ordered everything to give this a service after the MOT, plus a few extra bits it needs. Should run and drive mint when Paris gets it back!
Got the headlights back in, Have since slapped the big front plate on, and swapped the wheels as the new tyres haven't turned up...
I figured you'd have more pics regarding the front brakes, hence not really mentioning it, got your moneys worth from those! Removing all that metal from everything is a PITA.
Going to enjoy spending your money tomorrow!!
Wasn't as hard as I thought it would be!
New update, most of which is pointless!
Borrowed some Xenons....
Trial fitted some Turini's, I can't decide how much I like it....
Excuse the side trim, its in the post!
As the man above said, This is mine for the past/next few days, Heres Some of what I've been doing....
Firstly, dumped on my drive in a hurry Friday night, Got to work giving it a bath, it was minging.
All four wheels were removed, Rears first, one complete, one not touched yet. Both had...
Finally located side strips, Not so many 172 bits left to find/buy now.
Better pics when I eventually wash it.
Also, while fixing tweeter rattle the other day, I did something I forgot to do when I did the LED conversion. Wired the illumination up to ign live, so even during the day without...
They blab on about only selling to Trade (have done for years, and always make a point of that when we see the rep) but its no surprise they are now selling to public.
Cheers :)
It's on some koni springs, I wanted cooksport springs but were out of stock, and I'm kind of glad as I prefer how these sit.
I've always had lowered cars, and the clio rides okay for a lowered car, you can feel the road, but it's not crashy, don't feel a lot worse than standard. No...
I've sprayed the headlining in a few of my old cars, it takes time to get it perfect, I primed it (so its all even coloured), then many cans of black. Dries matt as you can imagine, it's not that durable but not terrible. Slight rubbing is fine.
Ill see if I can post pics later
Most likely inner track rods, do the ends while there too.
Easiest way to test, jack up the car and turn the wheel left to right, you'll feel or see movement without the other side moving.
Tyre will be tracking, once you replace bits get it done by a company with quality gear.
Have these in our work vans, and fit them ourselves.
I can't remember the model in our vans, but does this one have the event recording? I found the problem was, a slight bump, even in our standard vans, the camera records an event. The problem with manual event recording is forgetting in the...
I have some Kenwood Component's, I have the tweeter in place of the factory renault jobbie. Used the factory wiring but had to f**k about with the cross over, works well though :)
Cheers guys, I'd have much preferred to do it on the ramp but simply can't have a dead car sat there waiting, not enough space! So driveway as I've done for many years now works fine.
Its been a while since I serviced it, as you can imagine with the lack of use its not that often I do it! But...
