    Inferno fix up

Yeah I’ll have a think on it. I think if I was going standard I would still go with dark grey 182 wheels. Don’t think inferno suits the silver wheels. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

    Inferno fix up

Yeah I did debate with myself about putting the prices up. But there are no shortcuts here and if I make £1000 profit it would be hard earned that’s for sure. Wonder what people’s opinions are on the route the car shout go. It’s got some cheap static damping coilovers on it, an aftermarket air...

    Inferno fix up

I’m about finished with my mini r53 project I bought back in March and it will be going up for sale this week. I’ve always got my eye on cheap clios and with some good timing a few cheap clios came up that peaked my interest. First one was a racing blue but it was a few hundred miles away and...

    M100CUP goes hardcore

Oh and almost forgot. Electric power steering has been fitted and for general moving the car around and driving on the road it’s so much better. I think I prefer the hydraulic steering for feel but for the advantages I think it’s worth it. Plus my power steering pipes and pump took the brunt of...

    M100CUP goes hardcore

Thought it was about time for an update on this. Not a huge amount has happened since the last post but I thought I would put together my thoughts for the winter. Before I get on to that I did manage one last outing at a track day at Forrestburn hillclimb. Was nice they were able to put these...

    I bought my dream car.

The think with engine rebuilds is most of the parts you will buy are after market. Had a quick google and a set of forged pistons is £800-£950 depending on the size and spec. Consider a set of forged pistons for the engines in most used to (classic mini A series) are £550 and there are only 4...

1*2 specialist in the Glasgow area?

Cool. My brother has clip so should be able to diag it properly if you want to get in touch I might be able to help. Like I said I’m about 20 miles away though so not local. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

1*2 specialist in the Glasgow area?

Depends how far you are willing to travel. I know a lot of people use rentech in Edinburgh. I’m between Edinburgh and Glasgow but do all my own work. Paul Hunter might be able to point you in the right direction. He is out that way. Are you just looking for recommendations or to get...

    I bought my dream car.

Just seen the hand written diary and brought me back to a 1990 Mini Cooper RSP I bought in 2015. It was a beautiful mini. By far the best one I’ve ever had and when I went to buy it the owner had service history from a previous owner dating back to 1994 when it was purchased. It had the same...

    I bought my dream car.

I think it depends on two things. 1) how close the car is to original. If it’s modified already amber lights tend to look a bit out of place. 2) the colour of the car. I’ve got amber lights on the front of my T4. I’m changing from green to blue paint. If I was keeping it green I would keep...

Frayz's Inferno 182 - Back in the old flame

On the subject of brake callipers. I have a set of willwoods. They came on the car and to be honest I’m not sure I would have purchased them as an upgrade but they do look good. I got a set of DS1.11s for them from RTR parts. They aren’t designed for the callipers but with some cutting down...

What to do with a part broken chassis

Yeah. Your scrap values are a bit out of date. Full car is about £125/£150 at my local scrappy. If you are stripping it and leaving say 1/3rd of the weight then they are still covering fuel and making something. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Yeah the scrap value will cover the collection no problem. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

What to do with a part broken chassis

So you have a scrap car with an engine that is probably the most valuable thing on the car with new belts and dephaser last year. If you were closer I would have the engine and box off you. What is the reason for breaking it anyway?. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

What to do with a part broken chassis

Last one I done I stripped everything off including doors and boot and called the local scrappy to uplift the shell for free. If the engine and gearbox works I would def remove it. You can lower it on a pallet or two trolly jacks. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Frayz's Inferno 182 - Back in the old flame

You are mental. Get a set of Oz wheels for track. Best cost for performance. Speedline / turini / TD for the road if it’s mor me about looks. Job done. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

    Clio 172/182 - Too small?

Should be fine. I’m 6-2 and don’t have any problems. The standard seat position is a bit high. But if you are going to track it you can address that with changing the seat and fitting it as low as you want. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

    M100CUP goes hardcore

Booked into knockhill for a track day next Monday so starting prep for that. New radiator fitted. I’ve fitted a classic mini rad fan from a late model. Just need to wire it up now. I’ve also swapped the wheels over. The r888s need replaced after kames. So I’ve changed to the ad08r...

Frayz's Inferno 182 - Back in the old flame

Not noticeable really from the drivers seat but I’m competing so would favour them since I have both anyway. For the money new I would go with TDs again. Plus I actually think they look better. I only ended up with the Oz wheels cos they came up 2nd hand on eBay for £500 with good r888 tyres...

Frayz's Inferno 182 - Back in the old flame

Just swapped from my Oz ultra legerras to my TD 1.2 tonight and thought I would weigh them Just under 21kg wheel and tyre (r888) for the Oz wheel. Under 23kg for the TD. (Yoko ad08) You can feel the difference lifting the wheels. But I’m pretty happy with the TDs anyway and the OZ Wheels...

    M100CUP goes hardcore

And the first practice of the year results in a bit of a an expensive week following. I had a bit of a coolant leak which looks like it’s coming from the top radiator house join at the radiator. I’ve been considering a smaller alloy anyway so bought this. Also played a lot of the...

    M100CUP goes hardcore

Well that was a reasonable first outing of the year. A little drama with a bit of a coolant leak that only decided to happen after the first run. I managed to keep on top of it all day topping up with water. It looks like it’s coming from where to top hose joins the rad. I tried tightening...
