More weight removal gossip lol, basically ivan73 was over mine yesterday, had a fun time re-mapping his car :dapprove:.. argh that was fun.. but while talking about weight removal he suggested removing the Iso bar as it weighed a fair bit & was only there for child seats, so is this the case? i...

So onto the...
Basically got my self a set of FK koni's for the 172, but they didnt come with any sort of install/set-up manual or anything :S except for a small bit of paper that shows what bits you need from the old rear shocks to put onto the new ones.. well had a go at installing one of the fronts...
£300 would be ideal, guy said he paid fair amount for them with sub frames etc, summit like £750  , sure i will miss them once i relise just how hard the fixed buckets are lol
Nice thinking pep  , obviuosly i wouldnt take it around with me, would end up being the same weight as the standard lump lol, just handy for home starts when it wont be getting used all week :) , pep you seen my project thread, alot has changed, coilovers have arrived
Plan to install some light weight fibre glass seats next month, getting my 172 on a diet lol, so currently have a pair of Sparco seats that are fully adjustable & plan to sell them with the sparco frames & runners so basically still a very practical seat with the much needed added support over...

Thanks for all the comments guys
Few reasons, although it would probarbly of been a better choice lol

Seconadly, insurance, was another £450...
Cheers for the replys guys, how long can you usally get away with leaving it fred before the 172's idle electrics drain it beyond starting? my clio is becoming a weekend toy so would probarbly do nothing 5 days, but would do 100+ miles on the weekend, was looking at the redtop 25 as i take it...

You bought a second hand ECU :S , thought the chassis no. is locked to the ECU so you cant swap it.. just get your self an rstuner kit from fastchip for around £150, can keep your original ECU a revert it back when you sell the car, top bit of kit, hanks customer service is spot on :approve...
Been looking around for a light weight batterey for a few weeks now, came accross this on ebay - http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.d...tab%3DWatching 6.1kgs :D
If memory serves me right the standard batterey is around 15-18 kgs, can any one confirm? so in theory could be a 10kg weight saving...
Have heard/seen people remove the arche lineings when they go below 30/40mm on coilys bare in mind the camber, was the camber adjustable? if so that could bring one side closer to the arch lining if not set-up properly.. from memory i think the H&R's are fixed camber though..
