as fred says, imo theres nothing wrong with the stock airbox. I'm not even sure what maxogen are worth anymore, people are finding a similar thing in the V6 air box. when it comes down to it, that is defo £170 better spent on matched inlets.

I don't buy the exposed wires thing at all. Sounds much more like a sensor has gone somewhere and it's not been picked up properly. You'll need to have a play with a few things to work it out. Could possibly be a MAP sensor fault?
