    Different bottom end. The 197 uses the 800 seris big block the 172/182 use the 700 series blocks the 800 has a bigger matting face you cou;ld make one fit but for the effort not worth it by miles.

    Problems

    Check the AUX belt is tight is the car due it to be chnaged (ever 36k) also check the tensioner is ok although it will often wine when its failing. As for the other issues you realy need to get the car plugged into the renault computer or similar see what faults are logged.

    There isn't any realy if you do it safly either install the cage or use the higher rear seat belt points as there the next best thing.

    Don't forget the CR won't be chnaged 220hp will be abot the limit better RON fuela nd you can run a bit more boost etc but you'll hit the limit very quikc myabe on very good fuel and mapped 230~2450hp but the second you stick lower spec fuel in you'd have to have the ecu recognise the chnage and...

    Shock wear though depend how you drive stock shocks for me I chnaged at 50k with standard springs as I wasn't happy with them. I find the Apex to hard a ride though but each to there own. You don't but unless you've done them efore or know what your doing use them.

    Royal purple but its £50 for enough for a gearbox. Otherwise I use the Millers 75/90 stuff £35 for 5 liters enough for a box and a spare bit.

    Spark Plugs on 172

    Plugs are in theory good for 72k as there such a good type. Sometimes you can need to chnage them though early.

    Check the rear axle ins't bent. Shock are probably worn though on a phase 1 by now.

    You bleed form the closest point of the system to the abs to the furthest but IMo it makes no difference if you do let the fluid bleed out properly for ages what order you do it. The ABS pumps on the front left of the car hence fornt left first.

    259mm (sometime refered to as 260mm) vented. Just read the 172 guide on the forum the brakes are the same to chnage realy.

    Yep there all the same rear disk setups same for the fronts on all 172 and 182's.

    In theory theres only a few bolts there tow for each wishbone then there a fe hold the sufrmae to the car then then just got to remove the dogbone mont. In practice its a nightmare bolts getting stuck etc. This is why in engine conversions people take engine out the top rarther than bottom...

    Nope thee built in the same place in parell lines as the road cars as such but there not road cars depending on what car was to be built depend on the bits it had etc.

    You can fit them yourself and set them up people take it to experts to get the to use there prefered camber etc setups or use the experts knowedge of what camber etc to set the car upwith.

    Check the arjuster on the rear beam of the car most lilly its come disconnected. Renault can reset them if there low.

    1.9 Turbo diesels yep Very rare they did the TD in the Mk2 shell although there very rare even rarer in the higer spec 1.9TD in the Mk2 phase 1.

    65hp about 110lb toque I think from memory so about the same as the 1.5 dci 65 does. I agree its a good enine though a little underpowered though but powers not everyhting.

    For the rears stock are the best realy even for track use with much more hp etc.
