Tim Lennox - When I Spoke to my local Renault dealer, he said that he was sure the mods that are Renault approved for the Clio Cup, are compatible with all model 172s and they are of course Renault approved. Maybe the Renault dealer has made a mistake???? Really got my hopes up, thought I...

BenR - do you also colour code the side stripes on MK1 172s ????? also what happened to meeting up for general XR2 chat....are you going to any of the meets coming up soon...would be good to have chat....going to buy stock hatch XR2 soon for track days and for hopefully racing in Stock Hatch...

Teady, shame you havent heard any specifics about the tuning goodies for the cup, the local Renault dealer here said he was still trying to get exact details and prices, but they semmed to think that there would be some diff stages iof engine tuning available, and this would of course apply to...

Seems some Renault dealers aint so hot on after sales service, all the ones round here seem pretty spot on, had couple of problems and they sorted them under warranty no problem...

those results seem to make alot of the motorpress results wrong. Mk1 in EVO has a 6.6 0-60 and the mk2 slightly slower at 7.2( i think), so even the mk1 was driven badly or as mentioned above it was shagged. Myn is not shagged and it totally flys

Just wanted to add that just fitted my clear repeaters on my blue 172 and they really do look the booolax. Only slight trimming of the plastic edges was required and they snapped in nice and tight. such a nice and easy mod, and really adds to the look of the car. Should have done it sooner.

I pay 260 a month for car and another 61 for insurance, and as said above well worth it. Just wish I had more time to drive the little beauty.

11k still seems a bit steep. Miles are nice and low for its age, i would haver thought maybe nearer 10k, but then again this is from a dealer i presume...see if you can haggle him down, 10250 would be fair. You can use the excuse that you can buy a new one for only a couple of grand more..
