i have 2 connectors that look exactly the same to me. one is speed sensor on gearbox( phase 1 172 ) and the other is temp sender. which is which on loom ?
some years ago i had an old corsa. it never locked so i left nothing in it. one morning the glove box was open but it was empty so nothing gone.
3 days later went to take my son to school and realised they had nicked his car seat !!!!! how desperate can you be...
saw a tv program on scrapping cars and they had a hydaulic ram with a brass point to punture the fuel tank. the fuel ran down the centre of the point into a collecting tank.
i set number one cylinder at the middle of tdc and removed the cam end plugs. as an estimate i would say that the cam ends that should be at 3 oclock are between 1 and 2 oclock.
so im pretty sure the timing has slipped due to the bottom crank pulley separating at the damper.....
Phase 1 172.
Have some electrical connectors running down the back of the gearbox just behind the mounted ECU. What are they can somebody tell me ? Lambda ?
Apparently not.
The pulley is a pressed together item with a rubber damper. Looks like mine shed the damper which caused the 2 parts to separate. I dont think it actually caused the problem but was larming when it fell apart onto the floor when i cut the belt off !
With zero compression on cylinders 1 & 2 and only 50psi on 3 it wont run of course. If timing had slipped then the compression on cylinder 4 wouldnt be 180psi.
Really mystified as to what has happened. I suspect head gasket or head warped. Also found that the crankshaft pulley ( bottom pulley )...
the engine is out. im just having a look at diagnosing the cam timing. it was showing zero compression on 1 and 2 so i think the problem is more fundamental than the timing slipped.
how can i do a quick timing check without the special tools ? are there any timing marks that i can use ?
just trying to confirm what happened when my engine failed...
So i am now guessing that the timing has jumped a tooth. What are the chances of having it simply timed up again ? Would i be looking at valve damage ?
Is this a first ?????
Lifted the broken engine out of the sunflower this evening. Suspect headgasket as lack of compression across cylinders.
As i lifted it out i noticed the aux belt not sitting correctly and pinched under the cambelt cover. Immediately i was thinking that it had jammed the...
My Clio 1.2 does not self centre the steering. Checked wheel alignment and tyre wear and all ok
Think it has an electric rack. Do they have problems ? Cant really describe it but its like a high spot if you know what i mean.
