Technically no, but 9 times out of 10 I grease where the spring sits (Both ends) between the bushes at the top, and the top mount of most cars. I've eliminated squeaky noises from doing this a fair few times, also the noise when the rubber turns, then stops then turns again, like a twanging...
Sorry for the dodgy pic
Its basically a ball & socket, and the ball wears, then it can go up and down, and make knocking noises.
Did you grease the spring and the bearings when you assembled them?
Fubar jack your car up mate, keep the wheel on work the play top to bottom, and at 5 & 10 o'clock. Get under it with a big screwdriver/prybar, get it between the arm and the hub & see if you can pull it down. You'll be able to feel/see ifs its excessive
Bobby personally I wouldn't bother jacking it up, just make sure your on level ground, theres more than enough room to get a old dish bowl under, & a sump tool.
Also don't forget to change the washer on the sump plug.
Yeah good advice, massive visual deterrent & like said take ages to destroy/get off.
Get some more security lights up & a cheap CCTV set if you have to, I know its not the point but what can you do.
Personally if I caught them, they've be chewing 206 windscreen for the rest of their days
Agreed tommy the front spoiler looks shite. The exhaust surround is a bit half harted too, might look good all in black.
I'd rather get a 130bhp DCI, and get that mapped. Lot cheaper
Do the bolts as you do the other bolts, torqued properly. Grease the thread and whenever you get the wheel bolts off, clean the head of the lock nut and the key, can't go wrong
Got mine round to 120mph once (on the clock before you start) f**k me, when I got the DCI I couldn't believe how much of a death trap it felt like compare to a Mk2. Solid engine thought never broke down, only replaced bits I bust on it, shock tops and cv gaiter flying off bridges :o Set of shoes...
Usually the slightly larger socket bashed on the lock nut will do. I usually give them 3 or 4 whacks with a massive punch which loosens them up, and 'shocks' them - full on swings, not toffee breaking hits. Then a thinner punch, about 5mm across, and tap them round to undo. Works everytime I've...
What the screw or the socket? It'll never turn if you just put the socket on them straight away, you'll mash the head up. shock them with the hammer/WD40 them to loosen them up a bit.
Can be a bit tight on those. Turn ignition off. Remove your airbox (1X10mm, 1 rubber band) pull that off. Remove your air filter (2XT20s) best with a stumpy screwdriver for those. Get a torch and you'll see 2X10mm bolts at the back, and 1 on the top, remove those. Then you'll have to fight it a...
If your not happy with them, get it jacked up again and have a nose around, make sure your bolts are all tight, pads sitting correctly, hoses positioned correctly etc etc. Best to be safe on brakes eh.
Then if alls well, buzz it round the block and start to bed them in.
