how far should you go with covering the electrics then ? just the fuse box and battery or overkill and cover as many connectors as you can ?

if your going to spray water anywhere near the engine then you would be better with an open ended hose so the waters not forced out, it's more likely to get into places you don't want it to the higher the pressure is

yeh as said it's an emissions light, usually caused when people fit a decat or if a lambda sensor isn't working

most speed bumps are 75mm high but can be up to 100mm at the highest point so if your wanting to play safe then make sure your front bumper is above that

Just got my new engine delivered and was wondering wheres best to bolt into to secure the engine to the stand and what size bolts to get, i don't have any bolts sitting about so if i can find out it will save me getting various sizes of high tensile bolts and see what fits !

i'd much rather go with a company like SBP than the ebay one, not saying the ebay guy isn't good as he might be, it's just more of a known quantity with SBP

iirc it should flash every few seconds when the alarm is armed, get a pic and we'll be able to see if it looks the same as the standard ones i take it you've got a standard alarm on it as far as you know ? the only 172's that didnt come with that led light were imports as far as i know but...

cheers mate, it's obvious now you've said it but the valves in the first inlet were sitting slightly lower than the rest before i cranked it by hand and they were sitting like that after i had cranked it a few times, must have just been pure coincidence that i left it on the first inlet both...

im sure you can get a sort of matt type laquer but it's not really needed imo, just mke sure you sand it down first and get some primer on there and you should be fine

tinting spray will do the trick but most of them give quite a matt finish so i don't know if that's what your looking for, it also comes off with white spirt so easily undone if you don't like it
