It will damage the cat if left misfiring for a long enough time. It will splutter and sound/look as thought it is blowing thats probably what your hearing/seeing.
I wouldn't run the car unless you have to mate
Mate, the TDC sensor is on the top of the gearbox at the bell housing end, above the flywheel. Its held in by 2 10mm bolts, not that hard todo to be honest. If you are gonna disconnect it make sure you've got the ignition off, a bit of electric cleaner, tighten the terminals usually helps...
Don't use one of the cheap 12 sided sockets, they slip too easily. Get a mans airgun and buzz it off, its been done up far too tightly if your air gun doesn't get it off.
Sure it hasn't been cross-threaded before?
Edit - Just saw your pic, let the arm hang
Clio 172 Cup
Part number is 8200 033 408 - £6.82
Yeah easy job mate, take the fuel rail cover off theres a 10mm bolt in the 2 holes on the left end of it. Front of the block
Keith, you need to pull your receiver out, from infront of the sunroof, and clean all the electrics with a FINE wire brush, and maybe a spray of electrical cleaner.
My old RT had to virtually touch the door window to plip it, did that^^ and it worked a few yards away.
Then re-seal it all...
Matt, there about £36.64 mate
Al, take your engine cover off, and undo the 10mms holding the coils in. Then start it up, and slowly lift them up, and listen to hear them working, if you lift it all the way out and it cuts out/changes the tone of the engine that ones fine. If you lift it and...
Wouldn't get a valver mate unless your good with the spanners.... Every other day. Be prepared to phone up GSF a lot aswell.
Have you thought about a 1.9 D MK1 Clio, pure workhorse and will do lots of MPG, you'd be amazed how much cash you'll save on fuel. Cons - Will lower your street cred...
It can be anything from £90-£450 ish but from what I've heard you keep the MPG around the same so its worth it.
Everytime I drive/get smoked by a 182 it tempts me big time, then I look at the insurance/MPG and tax. £50 a year'll do me chap ;)
80s a bit nippier intercooler helps lol Mines got just over 124mph following a 306 GTI, even after 100 it pulls easy
Fuels brilliant too, got to Cornwall on a quater of a tank, and been to crewe and the needle barely moved. Even round town giving it some its around 40-45mpg
Don't know what...
If the mileage is genuine thats pretty good considering. I'd be asking about the cambelt/recent services etc and MOT's make sure they haven't just found something majorly wrong with and trying to get rid.
I'd try and get it down to around £600 aswell
Not yet- I've been out in a mapped 80 was a far bit quicker. Theres a lad on heres got a 80 and mapped that. Theres someones wifes mapped 65 now virtually an 80 I think - can't remember who.
Haven't mapped mine , its on the list but might get coilovers first.
How much was your engine Damo...
04 plate, FF Xenons & packs, past the old bill station then onto Leicester road where you gave it some stick
Flashed dunno if you saw us/on here?
About half 5
Yeah its not too bad to be honest. Theres a few things I'd change if I was higher up/manager but its alright, the paperwork to work ratios a complete joke though.
I think the 1.4/1.6/2.0 engines are complete shite to be fair. The meganes a big car, these measly engines aren't upto the job...
Yeah same here :o
Er, yeah, there bloody quick, there like the baby 225. Like the valver to the willy sort of thing. There 6 speed too, a lad at works got one, hes had 130 (on the clock) out of his easy he said.
If you cant find a good'un, or need good MPG try a 1.9dci Megane mate - you...
