On my old clio grande I pressed the keyfob and an identical car to mine unlocked! It's not just the keys, it's the keyfobs too!

If I had the space to rebuild my engine I would have done, but getting K-tec to do it instead. It's not worth fooking up if you consider that £1500 worth of parts on top of the engine could get knackered if you mess something up.

Around £60 plus postage, there is no centre cap unfortunately. I have listed a few more items tonight, more car parts!!:D

looks like a dodgy repair to me. No attention to the details. Fog lights colour coded, might be down to a preference though. The bumper stickers are missing, and it looks like a dynamique grill?

what do people use to paint the rocker cover? I use hammerite smooth on the plenum, but have seen crackle effect paint used on gdi's car. Any idea what paint it was?

As far as i know, the head and cams are standard. What about the bottom end though? What options are there for stronger gearbox.

low compression and high compression, plus a cylinder with lots of oil in, i think that's what's up with it. Dont know what is broken for sure yet.

What other jobs should i get done while it's out for a rebuild?:dapprove: I'm thinking clutch, aux belt, cam belt water pump. Extras if I have enough cash could be lightened flywheel, conrods. what about boring out to 2.2 litres?

Dont do it unless you can afford to rebuild engine every now and again. 4lbs of boost will feel like bugger all tbh.

If you want it because its a cheap quick car, get a 172 ph1. If it's because you want the toys, then get a later 172ph2 with all the gadgets. But if you really want the 182 with cup packs you may get one for around 8k. If mine were standard I would rather keep it than sell for less than 8k.

sounds like you got a bargain at £100 posted though, surely you could whack this one on ebay then buy a new one from renault?

Can Paul at RStuning reprogram the ecu so that it programs itself to a new set of keys?
